Olivia woke up on her birthday, feeling a mix of emotions as she remembered that it was her special day. Despite the excitement, there was also a tinge of sadness, knowing that she would be spending the day without her ex-husband, Zack, since their divorce.
As she got ready for the day, Olivia couldn't help but reflect on the memories of past birthdays with Zack. They had shared so many happy moments together, but now things were different, and Olivia had to come to terms with that.
"Mommy, is it your birthday today?" Olivia's daughter, Zivia, asked as she entered the room, breaking Olivia out of her thoughts.
"Yes, sweetheart, it is," Olivia replied with a forced smile, trying to hide her inner turmoil from her daughter.
Zivia's eyes lit up with excitement. "Can we have cake and balloons, Mommy? Birthdays are fun!"
Olivia's heart ached at her daughter's innocence. "We'll see, honey. Mommy isn't feeling very festive today," she admitted, trying to hide her own sadness.
After dropping zivia off at school, Olivia headed to work, her mind filled with thoughts of the day ahead. She tried to focus on her tasks, but the memories of past birthdays with Zack kept intruding.
As the day progressed, Olivia's sister surprised her with a birthday lunch at a cozy cafe. Despite her initial reluctance, Olivia found herself enjoying the company of her family and friends, grateful for their support during this difficult time.
Later that evening, Olivia received a surprise visit from her boyfriend and fellow designer/ co-worker, Carter , who had planned a special dinner just for the two of them. As they sat together, sharing stories and laughter, Olivia couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and companionship Carter brought into her life.
As the night came to a close, Olivia reflected on the day's events. Despite the absence of her ex-husband, Zack, she had found joy and happiness in the company of her loved ones. And as she blew out the candles on her birthday cake, she made a silent wish for a bright and happy future ahead.
