As Olivia Wilson woke the next morning, she instinctively reached out for Zack, hoping to feel his familiar warmth beside her. But as her fingers met the empty side of the bed, a pang of loneliness settled in her chest. Glancing at the clock, she realized it was already 11:00 AM. She shot out of bed, panicked.
Rushing down the hallway, Olivia checked Zivia's room, only to find it spotless and empty. Heart racing, she headed to the kitchen, where Sawyer was making his usual morning tea.
"Sawyer!" she called, a touch of anxiety in her voice. "Where's Zivia?"
Sawyer looked up with a reassuring smile. "Ms. Wilson, don't worry. Natalie and I took her to school this morning. And Mr. Goldsmith... he left early for a meeting in Liverpool."
Olivia breathed a sigh of relief, giving him a nod of gratitude. But despite the comfort of knowing where Zivia was, a lingering unease settled over her. Deciding to distract herself, she grabbed her coat and headed out for some shopping.
---
She spent part of the morning browsing at Gucci, picking up a few pieces-a new purse for herself, a dress for Zivia, and a scarf that reminded her of Zack. She traced the fabric of the scarf, thinking of him, before moving on to élégantéafford, hoping that work might take her mind off things.
But the restlessness wouldn't subside. After working through several designs, Olivia left the office early to pick up Zivia from school.
"Mama!" Zivia ran up, arms outstretched and beaming.
Olivia knelt, sweeping her up. "How was school, my little sunshine?"
"Good!" Zivia grinned, holding up a paper filled with colorful scribbles. "I did shapes, Mama! Big shapes!"
Olivia chuckled. "And you did an amazing job, sweetie."
They chatted on the drive home, Olivia's heart warming as Zivia shared stories of her day, a steady stream of cheerful babble that filled the car with joy.
---
Once they returned, Olivia settled Zivia with a snack and sat nearby, lost in thought. The feeling of unease crept back, more persistent this time. After a moment, she pulled out her phone, dialing the local police department to inquire about Carter's status.
The officer's response froze her in place. "Mrs. Wilson, Carter was released on bail this morning."
Her hand tightened around the phone, her pulse quickening. He was out. She barely managed a reply before hanging up, her mind racing.
---
Meanwhile, Zack was in complete shock when he discovered Carter had been freed. Angrier than ever, he took the first flight out to Los Angeles, determined to confront his father, Lucius, face-to-face.
The moment he stepped into Lucius's mansion, Zack stormed down the hallway, rage radiating off him. "Lucius!" he called, his voice cold and commanding. The moment his father appeared, Zack's fury erupted. "You let Carter go?"
Lucius met Zack's gaze with his usual calm. "Zack, this situation is far more complex than you realize."
"You let him go, knowing what he did to Olivia?" Zack spat. "You think I'd accept that?"
Lucius didn't flinch. "I have my reasons. And I didn't do it without due cause."
"Then explain it!" Zack demanded, barely holding back his anger.

Flashback
After Zack left the torture room, Lucius merely gave a subtle nod to his guards, and without further explanation, he ordered them, "Bring Carter."
Down in the dark basement, Carter was tied to a chair, staring defiantly at Lucius as he entered. Lucius, his expression unreadable, approached slowly, his voice low and menacing. "Why did you attack Olivia?"
Carter let out a short, mirthless laugh, meeting Lucius's gaze with defiance. "You really don't know, do you?"
Lucius's eyes narrowed. "Enlighten me."
Carter's expression shifted to one of dark satisfaction. "Remember Lydia and Richard Winston?"
A shadow of hesitation passed over Lucius's face, but he kept silent.
Carter continued, his voice laced with bitterness. "I am their son. I am your bastard child, Lucius. My real name is Landon Winston."
Lucius took a step back, momentarily thrown off guard. "What did you say?"
"You heard me." Carter's face was twisted with anger. "I'm the child you abandoned. The son you never wanted."
Lucius's silence spoke volumes, his shock evident as Carter leaned forward, venom in his words. "And Charles Wilson-Olivia's father-was just as twisted as you. He had my father killed to keep your secret safe."
A pained look flickered across Lucius's face, the weight of Carter's words sinking in as memories surfaced. Years ago, Richard Winston had confronted Lucius, bursting into his study with fury.
"You abandoned Lydia and me like we were nothing!" Richard had shouted, his voice raw with anger. "You left her broken and alone!"
Lucius had remained unmoved. "Lydia was a mistake. I have a family, a real family, and Zack is my heir."
"Landon is your firstborn, Lucius," Richard had argued desperately. "He deserves his place!"
But Lucius had only sneered, shoving a briefcase of cash toward Richard. "Take this and go. Or I'll ensure you disappear for good."
Desperate, Richard had turned to Charles Wilson for help. But Charles, fearing Lucius's wrath, had ordered Richard's murder, leaving Lydia devastated. She eventually took her own life, attempting to take young Landon with her. He survived, but the trauma had marked him forever.
Back in the present, Carter's voice broke through the haze of Lucius's memory. "I was abandoned, thrown away like garbage. And now I'm here to claim what's rightfully mine."
Stunned, Lucius ordered his men to verify Carter's story. When they returned, confirming every detail, Lucius hesitated, letting Carter go in a moment of weakness.
---
After learning the truth of carter from his father... Zack was beyond disgusted at his father's actions.. Zack's fury reaching new heights when he learned his father had freed Carter yet again. His voice shook with rage as he confronted Lucius. "You knew all of this, and you still let him walk free?"
Lucius tried to explain, his voice firm yet defensive. "Zack, I thought I could contain him."
Zack's anger boiled over. "Contain him? He hurt Olivia!"
Seeing the growing fury in her son's face, Meredith stepped forward, placing a hand on Zack's arm. "Zack, please. Olivia needs you. The police just informed us that Carter's whereabouts have been uncovered-he might go after her."
Reluctantly, Zack tore his gaze from Lucius. He gave his father a final, chilling warning before leaving, rage seething in every step as he departed to return to England, intent on ensuring Olivia's safety.
