After Rose and Mike told Olivia the truth, they prepared to leave. Rose gave Olivia a tight hug, her voice filled with concern. "Take care, Liv. Remember, we're here for you," she whispered softly, squeezing Olivia's shoulders.
Mike ruffled Olivia's hair affectionately. "Yeah, Liv. Don't hesitate to call us if you need anything," he added, giving her a reassuring smile.
"Thank you, both of you. I'll think about everything you've said," Olivia replied, her voice thick with emotion. She watched them go, feeling a mix of gratitude and confusion.
### At Zack's Place
At Zack's place, he was in the middle of torturing one of his company's traitors. The room was dimly lit, the atmosphere heavy with tension. Zack's eyes were dark and unforgiving as he circled the man tied to the chair.
"You thought you could betray me and get away with it?" Zack growled, his voice cold and menacing. He picked up a whip, its leather surface gleaming under the sparse light.
The traitor whimpered, blood already dripping from his wounds. "Please, Zack, I made a mistake!"
Zack's expression hardened. "Mistakes have consequences," he hissed, bringing the whip down with brutal force. The man screamed in agony, his cries echoing in the room.
Each strike was delivered with deadly precision, Zack's anger intensifying with every blow. "You will pay for your betrayal," he snarled, his face twisted with fury. "No one crosses me and lives to tell the tale."
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of agony, Zack stopped. He wiped the sweat off his brow and instructed his men, "Get rid of this trash."
As he put on a black coat over his blood-stained shirt, his phone rang. He didn't notice it in the chaos.
### Olivia's Call
After multiple failed attempts to reach Zack, Olivia left him a voice note. "Hey Zack, it's Olivia. I'm heading to pick up Zivia from school. If you can make it, please come. We need to talk," she said, her voice a mix of urgency and hope.
Saying this, she bid her PA goodbye for the day and decided to find Carter before leaving. She found him in a meeting, discussing future marketing strategies.
"So, if we target the younger demographic-" Carter paused, noticing Olivia outside the meeting room.
She sent him a flying kiss, mouthing, "I'm going to pick up Zivia and then heading home. Love you."
Carter smiled, reciprocating the gesture. "Love you too," he mouthed back, his eyes twinkling with affection.
Olivia left, feeling a mix of anticipation and anxiety. Zack, after finishing the torturous task, got into his Rolls Royce. Hearing Olivia's voice note, he called her back once he hit the highway.
"Hello?" Olivia answered, her heart racing.
"Hey, Liv. I'm on my way to pick up Zivia," Zack said, his voice strained.
"Really? That's great, Zack," Olivia replied, trying to control her excitement. "Listen, Zack, we need to talk about-"
Suddenly, a truck slammed into Zack's car from three sides, sending it toppling over the bridge. "Hello? Zack?" Olivia's voice echoed, but the line went dead.
At the preschool, Olivia picked up Zivia. "Mommy, who are we waiting for?" Zivia asked, her innocent eyes wide with curiosity.
"Baby, we're waiting for your daddy," Olivia said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Really? Daddy's coming today?" Zivia's excitement was palpable.
"Yes, honey," Olivia replied, though worry gnawed at her.
Since it was hot outside, they went to the car. After waiting for 20 minutes, Olivia grew frustrated. She cursed Zack in her mind, angry at him for not picking up his phone. "Where is he?" she muttered under her breath.
Finally, Olivia decided to call Zack again. This time, a female voice answered. "Hello, who is this?"
"This is Olivia. Who are you?" Olivia responded, her heart pounding.
"Ma'am, I'm Ashley from City Hospital. Your husband has been in a terrible car accident. His condition is very critical. His family has been informed. We hope you can come soon."
Olivia's world came crashing down. Memories of their daughter Amanda's death in an accident flooded back, intensifying her fear. Looking at the blissfully unaware Zivia chattering happily in the back seat, Olivia steeled herself and started the car.
"Mommy, where is Dada?" Zivia asked.
"Babe, he's stuck in some work. I promise I'll bring him back to you," Olivia replied, her voice cracking slightly. Zivia, satisfied with the answer, continued playing with her toys.
Olivia couldn't stop thinking about Zack on her way home. Once there, Zivia ran inside, and Olivia quickly told her mother everything. Eloise, with a worried expression, replied, "Go to Zack, Liv. I'll take care of Zivia."
"Thanks, Mum. You're the best," Olivia said, giving her mother a tight hug before rushing to the hospital.
### At the Hospital
At the hospital, Olivia's heart pounded as she approached the reception. "I'm here for Zack Goldsmith. He was in an accident," she said breathlessly.
"He's in surgery. Please follow me," the nurse said, leading Olivia to the ICU waiting area. There, she saw Zack's family, their faces etched with worry.
Sasha, Zack's sister, ran to Olivia. "Liv, thank God you're here. He needs you," she cried.
Olivia nodded, her legs trembling. She approached the ICU door, peering through the small window. There was Zack, hooked up to various machines, looking more vulnerable than she had ever seen him.
Summoning all her courage, Olivia entered the waiting area. tears streaming down her face. "Zack, please wake up. We need you. Zivia needs you," she whispered, her voice breaking.
Minutes felt like hours as she waited, her mind racing with thoughts of Zack and their daughter. Suddenly, her phone buzzed. It was a picture of Zack and Zivia, sent by Zack's mother. In the picture, Zack was teaching Zivia to swim, both of them smiling and laughing.
Another picture showed Zack and Zivia covered in mud, gardening together. And yet another showed Zivia sleeping on Zack's lap while he read her a bedtime story.
Tears welled up in Olivia's eyes as she looked at the photos. "He really does love her," she whispered to herself.
The nurse returned, her expression grave. "Mrs. Goldsmith, your husband has lost a lot of blood. We urgently need an O-positive donor."
Olivia's heart raced. "I'm O-positive," she said quickly.
The nurse nodded, her face lighting up with relief. "Please come with me."
After a few tests, Olivia was led to a room where she could donate blood. As the needle pricked her skin, she winced but didn't flinch. "Just hold on, Zack," she whispered, willing her strength to flow into him through the blood.
