Ch 1

(Talon's Pov)

Making my way home from college I sniffle and push my thick black glasses up my nose as I think about earlier grimacing at the memory of my glasses threatening to be crushed by my assignment partner if I don't do the assignment in economics by myself the words witch freak running through my head. You see there's some magical creatures out there that have been coming out of hiding through the decades like fairies, werewolves, demons, angels, sirens, witches and their familiars along with vampires and dragons. I'm a witch I having taken after it from my mom while my dad is human. I moved to Seoul South Korea last year to start college but the one thing I wasn't expecting was the hate and harsh treatment. In America there's lots of supernatural creatures around but in Seoul not so much. There's only one guy who's nice to me and his name is Changho who I have a giant crush on. Running a hand through my light brown hair I wipe my emerald green eyes of tears when I reach my apartment I taking a deep breath before walking inside after unlocking the door. I throw my backpack into my room bypassing a black cat laying on a lounge chair by the window he lazing in the sun the cat soon shifting into a young man older than me. "Alright what happened?" I sigh miserably as I go to plop down on the couch beside the young man who's my familiar. "If I wasn't getting such a good education and going to the top school in Seoul I'd just go home. But my parents worked hard to pay for our plane tickets and I worked my ass off to get a scholarship here." The young familiar hums before stretching lazily. "I don't think this place is as glamorous and amazing as it seems. But I say let me go to school with you one day." I immediately give him a stern look. "No way Raedan you'd end up killing someone." He smirks and nods in agreement. "That's true. But what can I say? I'm a demon and my job is to protect you so troubles in my nature." I roll my eyes before getting up and start heading to the kitchen Raedan immediately following me. Raedan's half Korean and has been my familiar since he was nineteen and I was fourteen and started out practicing magic. We've been best friends ever since. Digging out things to make cupcakes I speak up excitedly. "Hey I'm going to confess to Changho tomorrow so wish me luck." He raises an eyebrow at me. "I don't know about this Talon. He seems snobbish." I give the familiar a slight look. "He's been nothing but nice to me and I'm sure he'll at least accept the cupcakes." Raedan shakes his head as he watches me bake I finally finishing up a small batch of cupcakes then wipe the sweat from my brow. "I'm gonna go do homework I have an economics assignment due." Raedan nods and I head to my room grabbing my laptop then immediately start doing research and typing until I put everything away setting my glasses on the table and crash at around two am.
