The district boy: part 4

—————————Persephone POV ——————

Persephone wasn't feeling well, her dad had taken her to a doctor and found out that she had fallen Ill and that she couldn't attend school until she was better, persephone felt horrible not just because of the way her body felt like it was cooking but because she was worried about Sejanus her best friend as he would be all alone at the academy where everyone bullied him And treated him like dirt even tho he has a beautiful home

FLASHBACK

Persephone price stood outside the plinth manor next to sejanus while she was excited to visit the home of her new best friend she was also nervous because not only were the plinths rich and she feared that she'd make a bad first impression but because she feared what her father would think, would he be mad at her if he found out that she was friends with someone from the districts

she felt a tap on her shoulder which snapped her out of her thoughts and turned to see sejanus looking at her with a concerned expression on his face and eyes which made her heart beat slightly faster in her chest

"it's okay, you don't have to be nervous" -- he said kindly and persephone felt most of her nervousness vanish and replaced with confidence and she smiled and began walking with him towards the manor and were welcomed inside and was greeted by an older woman who she assumed was sejanus's mother and she introduced herself as his mother and welcomed her with open arms and persephone wanted to cry because sejanus's mother reminded Persephone of her mother

both were kind and caring.

persephone walked through the huge hallway while being guided by the hand by sejanus who was explaining district two culture, he told her and showed her the buildings of two were colorful and that the people played beautiful music he even told her that there was a lake that his Ma would take him hiking to, he even showed her his room and even answered the questions she had with a smile on his face that made persephone want to smile.

eventually dinner came and at first persephone denied but a soft but firm look from Mrs.plinth and the smell of delicious food made her stay and eat and the food was super yummy!! apparently sejanus"s mother cooks and she made really good food and when it came time to go persephone had been hesitant to tell them that she didn't have anyone that took her to and from school but Mrs.plinth had told her that she would start sending the family drive to pick her up and take her to school everyday

overall persephone loved her time at the plinths.

FLASHBACK END

a month and a half later persephone was walking up the steps of the academy feeling much better and happier because she could not wait to see sejanus again and when she got to the classroom and saw sejanus she smiled...and then frowned because sitting next to sejanus was a girl the she recognized as vipsania sickle and persephone was upset not just because vipsania had stolen her friend but the thought that she had been replaced.

she was mad and upset so she avoided sejanus the whole day until she was walking down the academy steps she heard a "wait" from behind her and it was sejanus, she turned around and looked at sejanus who stopped in front of her to catch his breath before speaking Asking her if she was okay, persephone responded sharply that she was fine and asked him how he was doing

Sejanus looked taken aback and upset and asked persephone why she was avoiding him and she almost said something harsh but instead she asked him if they were still friends and Sejanus told that they were and asked her why she said that he was hanging out with Vipsania and she admitted that she felt like he had replaced her

She immediately felt Sejanus's arm around her as he brought her into a hug and then he looked her in the eyes and told her that he never even thought of replacing her and that while vipsania was a surprise but welcome she wasn't like persephone and that she was his friend real friend. And persephone actually cried and hugged Sejanus as tightly as her could until the tears stopped and they stood on the sidewalk hand in hand waiting for the plinth family driver to come and take them home.
