CHAPTER 15: NAINA

I was hugging him tightly when I woke up. His arms holding my body securely, the warmth they emitted made me feel so cherished that I wanted to cry. He was so calm with his words yesterday that it made me think how could these 2 brothers be so different?

I heard a knock on the door and I slowly and gently kept his arm away and silently got up without making any noise. Wearing my slippers, I opened the door quietly to reveal Sakshi standing in the front.

Shutting the door behind me, I looked at her. She looked nervous and was fidgeting with her fingers. I lifted my eyebrows and gestured her to speak.

"Uhh..good morning Naina."

"Good morning, did you want to say something?"

"Yeah.." she laughed nervously and fidgeted with her fingers.

"I wanted to explain about that night-"

"No need, Mahir ji told me about it." I said with a smile. Her face relaxed a bit before she held my hands in hers and looked straight into my eyes.

"Sweetie I am so sorry, if my actions made you feel insecure in any way possible. I never meant to do that. Mahir and I are just friends and I would never like him. So please you don't have to be upset from him."

"I wasn't-"

"Everybody could see it Naina. You were ignoring him. We all could see his eyes lose their shine whenever you ignored him."

My heart picked up it's pace, did he feel sad?

"He loves you a lot Naina. So much that I have never seen him go crazy for any girl. Even in our get together he talked about you. It was as if he didn't have any topic except yours. He cherishes you a lot dear, please give him a chance to Express his care and love for you."

A gush of happiness hit me like a truck. Was I so special to him? I didn't even deserve so much care, why was he doing this?!

"I will." I smiled, everything was getting into it's place. She hugged me and the ugly feeling had left my chest and I felt lighter now. I hugged her back.

On entering the room, I saw him coming out of the washroom wearing his workout attire.

"Where did you go? Did you have a good sleep last night? Are you feeling alright now?"

I hugged him and he placed his hand on my waist. I was over the moon, my happiness didn't have any place to settle.

"Lagta hai aapne koi acha sapna dekh liya."

"Haan dekha na, mere saamne khade hai!"

(Looks like you saw a really nice dream.)

(Yes I did, he's standing right in front of me.)

A blush creeped up on his cheeks as he broke the hug before sitting on the bed tying the lace of his shoe.

"Are you blushing Mahir ji?" I teased him while he turned his neck towards me and said, "I don't blush devi ji."

I smiled teasingly before pecking his lips and seeing him turn into a tomato.

"Dosen't seem that way, Pati dev."

"This is cheating Naina." He cried, I laughed and gently kept my hand on his.

"Thank you for comforting me yesterday. I don't know what had happened to me. I just got scared and-"
