Walking out of the airport and hailing a taxi to his office, I prayed to the god to make everything go perfect. I had asked papa about his office and it's address. I had never been so nervous before, felt like the time I was about to give the VIVA.
Paying the driver and walking to the entrance with my suitcases, people gave me some side glances, ignoring them I walked up to the receptionist and asked her about him.
"Good evening ma'am, who would you like to meet?"
"Mr. Mahir Malhotra." She observed me for a few moments before smiling back and typing something in her computer.
"What is the reason for your meetup?" I didn't feel nervous, a few glimpses of the past played in my mind and I chuckled.
"I am his wife. I came to meet him." Her eyes widened at my response and she immediately got up and bowed. I smiled at her and told her to not tell my name and just inform about somebody's presence.
She nodded and called someone-most probably his secretary. I sat down on the couch and waited for him. What felt like an hour, I got up when I saw him coming out with a group of men talking about something.
I stood up and walked forward, he hadn't noticed me until one of the men informed him about my presence. He turned his neck towards me and it felt like he froze upon seeing my unannounced presence.
His eyes widened and a red tint made up it's way on his cheeks.I awkwardly waved at him but he turned his neck back again and quickly said something to those men. They all collectively looked at me and bowed their heads in my direction.
Awkwardly doing the same, they all left passing some teasing smile towards us. My gaze again fell upon him who was briskly walking towards me. Before I could say something, he engulfed me in a hug. His cologne hit my nostrils and I closed my eyes inhaling it.
It didn't matter if anyone saw us, I wrapped my arms around his waist and let myself melt into his touch. He pulled me even closer and kissed my head.
"I missed you so much."
"The feeling is mutual, pati dev." We broke the hug and smiled looking at each other. His eyes were circled with dark patches and he looked tired.
"You look tired."
"Keep talking, your words recharge me." Butterflies erupted in my stomach as I moved my head to the other side to hide my blush. Holding my luggage I looked at him who was already staring at me with a lopsided smile.
O My Gosh, I missed him so much!!!
"Do you have any other meetings?"
"No, this was the last one. Let's go." He turned his neck towards his secretary and he nodded.
What in the telepathy, did they talk about?
-
"You look tired Mahir ji, have you even slept properly?" I asked him, genuinely worried about his health. He had become thin and his usual pink cheeks had lost their color.
