IN the distance, the sound of a phone ringing filled my ears, and I grabbed the boys' arms. "Wait. Do you hear that?" I asked them.
"Hear what?" Stiles asked, stopping beside me.
But Scott nodded, looking at me. "It sounds like a phone ringing."
"What?" Stiles questioned, clearly reminding us he had human hearing.
"I know that ring." Scott's eyes widened. "It's Allison's phone."
What. The. Hell.
"Why the hell is Allison here?" I asked, rubbing my hands down my face. The last thing we needed were more people here.
"Just give me a phone," he demanded, holding his hand out. "Either of you."
Quickly, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and handed it over to him before he typed a number in and dialed it.
It rang once, twice, and then Allison's voice came down the line. "Riah?"
"No, it's me. Where are you?" Scott asked her, looking between the two of us.
"I'm in the school looking for you. Why aren't you at my place?"
Of course, with our luck, she was actually here.
"Where are you right now?"
"On the first floor."
Grabbing Stiles's arm, I started pulling him behind me with Scott, urging the both of them to hurry the hell up.
"Where? Where are you exactly?"
"The swimming pools."
"Get to the lobby. Go now."
"Okay, okay, I'm coming."
Hanging up the phone, Scott shoved it into my hand, and I quickly slipped it back into my pocket before we started running up the stairs again.
Usually, I loved running, but right now...not so much.
Pushing through a set of doors, we ran into the lobby just as Allison entered across from us.
"Why did you come?" Scott questioned, rushing toward her. "What are you doing here?"
"Because you asked me to?" she replied, but it sounded more like a question.
"I asked you to?" Scott repeated, glancing back at us in confusion.
"What do you mean?" I asked, stepping up to Scott's side with Stiles.
Pulling her phone out of her pocket, Allison showed us a text that read, 'Meet me at the school. URGENT - Scott'
"Why do I get the feeling you didn't send this message?" she worriedly asked, lowering her phone.
