"Silas!" I yell chasing my two year old son around the yard playing tag.
"You can't catch me daddy." He says laughing. This was our typical day. I could work at home for my company, and my day consisted of taking care of my son Silas, while my girlfriend Siege worked. I loved my son more than anything in this entire world. He had black hair that was kind of long, and had blue eyes. He wasn't one of those chubby kids. He was really skinny, and stayed that way by being as active as he was. He takes right after his daddy on that. He made me realize that not everything is about me and I needed to step up and take responsibility. Right when I was catching up to Silas he trips and falls, and blood comes gushing out of his knee. "Owe daddy it hurts." Silas says crying hysterically.
"Stay here Silas," I say running inside to get a bandage to cover up his knee and to stop the bleeding. I run back outside, and I don't see my son anywhere in the backyard. "Silas!" I yell in a panic. "Son where are you?" I yell almost in tears. I'm spinning in circles, and it's only making me sick.
"Daddy." I hear. I run to where the screaming just came from, and someone throws Silas in the truck, and speeds off. I break off into a sprint after the truck, but I can't catch it. I run back to my house, and get in the car and speed towards the direction the truck went. There's no use they're gone. My sons gone. I pull off to the side of the road, and cry hysterically. How am I ever going to tell Siege this?
After an hour of crying I can finally see the road enough to drive to her work. As soon as I walk into her office she asks where he is. "Siege.... Siege someone took him." I say breaking down right in front of her.
"What the fuck do you mean someone took him Ryder?" She says basically screaming.
"We were playing tag, and he tripped up, and started bleeding, so I went inside to get him a bandage, and when I came back outside someone was putting him in the truck. I tried so hard. I really did. I couldn't get him. I'm so sorry." I say crying.
