I went over to Shaleigh and asked her and her friend to join Miles and me for drinks. Damn, she is beautiful. I don't think she realizes that I caught on to how nervous she was. I use to think girls being nervous was pathetic, but damn she makes it look so hot. I'm nervous, and that never happens to me. "Miles, this is Shaleigh and her friend." I introduce.
"Layken," she corrects.
"Please take a seat," Miles says smiling.
"So, Shaleigh tell me about you," I say trying not to sound too eager.
"Way to be typical," she replies. She's feisty I like it. Her act can surely be broken through though.
"I'm not your typical guy, Shaleigh. I can promise you that." Her breathing slows down, and she turns her head away.
"Seriously, tell me about you."
"My names Shaleigh Adams. I go to Stanford University, and I have a boyfriend that I've been dating two years. I played soccer from elementary school up until senior year in high school. I don't think you need to know any more about me. I just met you." Did she just say boyfriend? This is going to be a lot harder than I thought.
"Your boyfriend must be a lucky guy."
"I'm the lucky one."
I know she doesn't have a perfect relationship. If she did, she wouldn't be trying so hard not to look up at me. I wish she would look at me though. I could stare into her beautiful eyes forever and not get in the least bored. "I see, Ms. Adams, but you see being "lucky" isn't really a way to put it. Nothing happens by luck. It happens all by chance. You and your boyfriend's chance just happens to be now." I can tell she's really thinking about that because the way she's staring at me right now is like I'm the smartest man in the world. Finally she replies,
"So you believe in chance?" She asks.
"See, everything happens for a reason I believe. Whether it's by chance, or if it's because it's time."
"You sure look at the perception in life." She has no idea.
