When Ryder ran up to me I must admit I was a bit in shock. He looks so much better. I can tell he's been working out. When he asked me to coffee I was nervous. I haven't seen him since I caught him having sex with that girl on the couch. That's not something I ever want to relive. It's a pretty long walk to the coffee shop, but when we arrive at the coffee shop we order our coffee and sit down. "So do you still date Rush?" He asks.
"Yes. We've been dating almost two months now. He's honestly a great guy." She says smiling.
"I'm glad you finally found someone who makes you happy."
"Me too." There was an awkward silence after that. I missed Ryder, but maybe it was better off we didn't talk.
"Look, I'm really sorry you witnessed what you did. You didn't deserve that. I was drunk, and it just happened. I'm so sorry that I was a complete asshole and let you walk away like that, but I miss you. I miss having you around. Nothing is the same anymore. Please come back and stay with me. I promise it'll never happen again." The look in his eyes is so sincere, but I don't know if it's a good idea. I have a boyfriend, and I don't think he'd like this very much.
"Ryder, I have a boyfriend." I state.
"You are supposed to be my best friend. I understand, I really do, but I'm not asking you to date me. I'm asking you to please come back and live with me."
"Ryder. I..." Before I finish he interrupts me.
"Please."
"Fine. You win."
"I always do," he says with a wink.
This is either going to be the worst mistake I've ever made, or the best, but I can't fall for him. I don't see that happening though. Rush makes me really happy, and every day we are together it's like the first. I've never been in a relationship like this. The beginning of my relationship with Julian was good for the first couple of months. Then he suddenly became abusive out of nowhere. It was like we were great one minute, then the next he wanted to hurt me in any way possible. The bad part about it all is he got pleasure out of it. I'm surprised this time he ran. Usually it was never this bad though. I'm grateful I met Ryder. If I wouldn't have met him who knows what would've happened to me, or what would've happened if he would've came back. I don't even want to think about that anymore. That's all that ran through my mind on the car ride to Layken's house to pack up my stuff.
"Where are you going, Shaleigh?" Layken asks.
"I'm moving back in with Ryder." I say.
"I thought you hated him?" Layken questions.
"I saw him today, and we grabbed a coffee. He begged me to come stay with him, and I said yes."
"I don't think it's smart. You know what happened last time."
"Everyone deserves a second chance, Layken. Plus we weren't even dating. We are friends. That's all. Nothing more. I have a boyfriend. Plus, I've known Ryder almost two months. It's not like we just met."
"I just don't trust him. Just please be careful." She says worried.
"I will. Thank you for giving me a place to stay." I say honestly. With that being said I grabbed by bag and walked out.
Ryder's house is beautiful. Its three stories with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The garden is full of vegetables, and it's just beautiful. You wouldn't at all think a guy lived here. His house is tan, and it's in a secluded area. It's fenced in, and you have to press a call box before you can even enter, so Ryder already knew I was here before I walked in.
