when they arrived at the lotus casino Percy noticed all the fun arcade games and he turned to Aura
"can we play some games for like ten minutes" he smiled down at the girl
"no. were finding hermes, convincing him to give us a ride to the underworld and we are out of here ten seconds later." Aura rolled her eyes up at the boy
"i was kidding." he smirked
"okay?" Aura frowned, she was exhausted.
As the four walked up into the lotus they decided it will be better to split up, Annabeth and grover go one way, and Aura and Percy go the other way.
"okay so uh, every time i touch you theres like this shocking thing, do you know what it is?" Percy said to Aura awkwardly
"yeah of course i dont, im not annabeth smart...." Aura rolled her eyes Aura grabbed his hand getting shocked leading him through the crowd of people
"okay uhm... next question..." Percy whined as he got dragged by the girl
"dude." she turned around and looked at him "we dont have much time but continue."
"i keep having these weird dreams, do you get them?" he smiled
"well of course, i dont understand them. look now more dumb questions" she turned and smiled at the boy "i just want to fi- hermes." she started running through the hotel and came upon hermes
"demigods! welcome!"
"we were sent here to come speak to you.." Percy moved closer starting to let go of Auras hand, and as he got further away, his personality faded in her head
"yeah yeah i know that. and i know what you need from me" Hermes rolled his eyes at Percy
"okay smartass, were friends of lukes." Aura rolled her eyes, but as she said his name, she couldnt remember who he was. "wait, why are we here again?"
"Ye- Aura?" Percy turned around and grabbed her shoulders "what do you mean why are we here?"
"I- I dont know, I just forgot everything...." Aura blinked as she started to remember everything she had just forgotten. "i forgot everything as soon as you left." she said
"Okay well then im not leaving your side." percy smiled and moved next to her
"okay, so hermes, you are going to get us to the underworld." she frowned at the god
"yeah no, i cant." hermes said moving the three of them into a diner.
annabeth finally found her way to the other two, she sat down and Aura stormed out. Putting her ring on, the ring that turned her invisible, when she walked in the room she just stormed out of, nobody saw her (well isnt that obvious?) she walked straight up to hermes and stuck her hand "in his pocket pulling out a set of keys and walking out taking her ring off, and of course as she did that, the other two walked out.
"hey! we have a problem." percy ran up to her "i know it seems like we have only been in here for 20 minutes. but its been days. its literally thursday." he started talking with his hands
"so hermes let us sit there knowing our time was running out?"
"yes." annabeth sighed
"well then i feel a lot better about having stolen his keys..." she jingled the god of thieves keys in front of him
"you pickpocketed the god of pickpocketers?" he smiled
"yup, i told you i was-" she got cut off
"not just a pretty face, yeah you've mentioned it...." he smiled, but soon his smile would fade as the girl in-front of him would soon black out.
"okay we have to fi- Aura?" Annabeth started as the girl fell, "Aura!" she yelled going down to the floor with her "Percy! you stay here okay? im going to go find Grover..." She ran off leaving percy and aura Alone
well percy however shook the girl "Aura. Aura!" he yelled while shaking her
"huh!" she woke up to percy shaking her
"you blacked out." percy held out his hand to help her up
"i did?" she grabbed his hand getting shocked, the shocking was growing more and more painful but they couldn't understand why.
"come on lets go!" percy started running with the girls hand in his, searching for grover, what they didn't realize is that there hands, after this moment, would never leave the others. this was the moment he fell in love with her, and he would be in love with her for the rest of his life.
"Grover!" she yelled out as she saw annabeth talking to a kid with a headset on "there!" she pointed
"guys we dont have much time" she panted running up to the person and taking the headset off
"Hey!" grover yelled "i was so close to finding pan." he sighed as Aura just hugged him.
"i bet you were, but we have to go." she smiled, Grover was basically her older brother, I mean thats how she thought of luke, but grover was her older brother and her protector.
As the four of them ran out of the lotus casino grover looked at the other three "so is this quest dangerous?" Grover had forgotten everything about there quest,
"they were pumping lotus fruit in the air." Percy sighed
"whatever. hey? it looks like hermes knew i pickpocketed him?" she smiled as she read the note
"so one of us just has to drive us out of the garage?" she smiled
"i still don't remember what were doing so i think im out of the question..." grover smiled
"ill do it, it cant be that hard..." percy grabbed the keys, and boy was he a bad driver but when they finally got out of the garage they moved, to the beach.
"say hi to your dad for me? okay?" she smiled and hugged percy lightly
"of course." he smiled, and slightly he mumbled the three words that would become a constant saying for them after this year "I love you." he whispered so quiet, that no one could hear, and as percy set foot in the water, Aura realized, she was in love with percy. And she cannot believe it took her that long to notice.
