The Light of Dusk

In the morning Moon got up, rubbing sleep from his eyes. He got ready for work. He predicted that today would be busy. Not as busy as Thursdays usually were but somewhat busy.

"Sun!" Moon called making sure he was awake.

"What..?" Sun said groggily popping his head around the corner. He was holding a cup of milk coffee.

"Just making sure you were alive." Moon joked.

Sun just sighed and got back to what he was doing.

Once they were at work Sun and Moon both got to organizing and putting some cleaning supplies away from the night before.

The day was generally busy, not as busy as Moon had thought, but busy nonetheless. Sun was fine doing what he was doing so Moon did the thing he usually does and just did check in and out.

Once the work day had ended Solar came down like he usually did, walking to the computers and beginning to do something. Maybe coding?

"Oh, Solar! I liked the design you made..." Sun exclaimed. Moon tuned them out and got too deep cleaning a permanent marker stain from one of the padded floors. How did it get here only god knows.

Moon was nearly done when Solar came up to him.

"Hey, Moon?" Solar called.

"Huh? Yeah?" Moon said, not looking up. He was too focused on getting this stain off.

"Oh, uhm I wanted to ask if I could come over this evening, I don't feel like staying at the plex again.." Solar explained.

Moon was slightly taken aback from this but accepted anyway.

"You can stay in the spare room. Is there a reason?" Moon asked, stopping what he was doing and finally looking at Solar.

"Not really.." Solar lied.

"Mhm... Look I don't care if you stay over but I'd like to know the truth. Are you okay?" Moon asked, more stern this time.

"I don't want to talk about it right now." Solar looked back into the daycare.

"Alright, how about I finish this up and we can head over." Moon suggested, getting back to scrubbing off the last bits of it off.

"Yeah..." Solar sighed.
