Inaya curled up on her bed, surrounded by crumpled tissues and tear-stained pillows. Her eyes are red and puffy, her hair a mess. She's locked herself in her room and refuses to talk to anyone. Her door opens and her mother peeks in.
"Inaya, beta? Can I come in?" her mother asked. Inaya doesn't respond. her mother sighs and enters the room, sitting beside her daughter on the bed.
"Beta, I know heartbreak hurts. It feels like the world is ending, but trust me, it's not. You are strong, Inaya. You will get through this." her mother said in a thick voice with emotions and Inaya managed a weak smile.
After some time, her father joined them, his presence a silent pillar of strength. He didn't try to pry, just sat beside them, offering a comforting hand on her shoulder. His unspoken support spoke volumes.

"Maa...." Rohan said, entering the house and hugging his mother.
"Kaisa hai mera bacha?" his mother asked.
"I'm good, but where's Inaya?" he asked, but Anchal Aunty did not respond.
"I know she must be angry that I couldn't come on her birthday. But where is she?" Rohan asked.
"Wo...." Anchal Aunty said.
"What happened, mom? Is everything alright?" Rohan asked worriedly. Anchal Aunty then explained everything to him as he was out on a business trip.
"How dare he-" Rohan got angry after knowing everything.
"Rohan beta, it's not time to get angry. She needs us right now," Anchal Aunty said.
"Yes, you're right, Mom. Where is she?" he asked.
"In her room," Anchal Aunty said. Rohan nodded and left.
"Inaya," Rohan knocked on the door and entered her room.
"Bhai, you!" Inaya said. she hugged him and started to cry
"What happened, innu?" Rohan asked
"Wo Abhimanyu..." she said.
"I know, innu. Mom told me everything," he replied, making her sit on the bed.
"He doesn't deserve you, Innu," he said in a low voice. "You're too good for him. He'll regret this, mark my words."
"It hurts, bhai. It hurts so much," Inaya said.
"I know, innu. But you're strong, stronger than you think. You'll get through this," Rohan replied, wiping her tears with his thumbs.
"Thank you, bhai," she said and hugged him.

Advay stormed into Inaya's college, with anger in his eyes. He wouldn't let Abhimanyu get away with hurting Inaya. But a voice stopped him.
"Advay wait" Mrunali said grabbing his arm, "Fighting won't solve anything.
"But how can I just stand by when that jerk..." Advay said clinching his fist
"By being there for Inaya," Mrunali said gently. "She needs someone to listen, not someone to fight her battles."
Advay took a deep breath and muttered "Hmm"
Rohan and I were having a conversation when we heard a knock on my door. "Come in" I said in a low voice and Mrunali and Ishaan entered."How are you feeling now, Inaya?" they asked.
"Better," I replied in a low voice.
"Good to hear," Mrunali said with a smile.
"And you know what? Today, Bhai went to college," Ishaan said
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"To talk to Abhimanyu. I had to stop him," Mrunali said.
"Thank you, Mru," I said and sighed.
I looked towards the door and saw Advay leaning against the wall, offering a small smile and his eyes filled with warmth. I walked towards him taking small steps.
"Thank you, Advay," I said and hugged him, "for everything."
He didn't say anything, but after a few seconds, he hugged me back

It's been a month now and right now, I am at Ishaan's house working on a project that we are doing together for college.
"We're finally done," Ishaan said, stretching his arms wide.
"We did a pretty good job, didn't we?" I replied.
"We did, thanks to your amazing research skills," Ishaan replied, and I chuckled
Suddenly, the front door opened and Advay walked in, his hair ruffled and tie loosened. He had just returned from the office.
"Hi, Ishaan. Hi, Inaya," he said.
"Hi, bhai", "Hi, Mr Bhardwaj" we replied.
"Working on a project, I see," Advay said.
"Yeah, just finished," Ishaan said, sighing.
"You guys look tired. How about I make coffee for you guys?" Advay asked
"No, Mr. Bhardwaj, you must be tired," I replied.
"First of all, call me Advay, not Mr. Bhardwaj," Advay said.
"Uh, okay," I replied.
"So, coffee?" Advay asked.
"Um, okay," I replied hesitantly, and Advay went to the kitchen.
"That's something new," Ishaan said.
"What?" I replied.
"Did you notice how bhai was looking at you just now? He even offered to make coffee, which never happens unless someone he likes is around," Ishaan said.
"What do you mean?" I replied.
"Do you think... maybe bhai likes you?" Ishaan said.
"Are you crazy? He's just my friend's older brother! Besides, he barely even talks to me that much" I said.
"But the way he looks at you sometimes... and remember-" Ishaan said
I cut him off and said "Shut up and now, help me gather these papers before Advay comes back with coffee"
Just then, Advay returned with three steaming mugs of coffee. He handed one to each of us.
"Here you go, fuel for the brain and soul. Now, tell me all about your project," Advay said.
"Thanks, Mr. Bhard- I mean Advay," I replied
(Inaya was telling Advay about their project while Ishaan threw Inaya occasional teasing glances. Inaya tried to ignore him, focusing on the conversation with Advay, but a tiny seed of doubt had been planted in her mind. Could Ishaan be right? Does Advay see her as more than just a younger brother's friend?)
The conversation flowed, and the afternoon sun dipped lower, casting long shadows across the room. I looked at the time and said, "Well, I should probably get going. Thanks for the coffee and the company, guys."
"Sure, no problem. It was fun hanging out. Maybe we can do it again sometime," Advay replied.
"Yeah, sure. Bye, guys," I replied and left for my house.
