Author's pov

Over dinner, they talk about everything from college to their families to their favourite movies. Advay is pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to talk to Inaya and how much they have in common.

"So, I heard you like to paint. What do you usually paint?" Advay asked

"Yes, I love painting, especially portraits. It helps me relax and express myself. What about you? Do you paint?" Inaya said

"No, but I do enjoy visiting art galleries and appreciating different styles of art. It's fascinating how you can convey so much through a painting" Advay replied

"It is! It's like storytelling without words" Inaya said, agreeing.

"I'd love to see some of your work someday. Maybe you could paint my portrait." Advay said

"Only if you promise to sit still for hours!" Inaya replied, laughing softly

"Deal! So, how's college going? Anything exciting happening?" Advay asked

"It was a stressful week, actually. I've been juggling assignments and projects. It's been a bit much, but I'm managing." Inaya said, sighing

"That sounds intense. Sometimes it can be tough to balance everything." Advay said

"I'm just trying to stay focused and take it one step at a time," Inaya replied

"That's a great approach. So, what else have you been up to lately?" Advay asked

"Not much, really. I've been busy with Rohan bhaiya's wedding preparations. It's not hectic, but it's tough to manage college and this together, especially with final exams coming up," Inaya said

"Don't worry, college will be over soon," Advay said

"Yeah," Inaya said and sighed

They chat for a while longer, talking about everything and nothing. Advay tells her funny stories from his work. Laughter fills the air, a comfortable ease settling between them.

Advay drives Inaya home in comfortable silence. The city lights blur past the windows. Inaya stares out the window, replaying the evening's events in her mind. Her smile lingers, a warmth blooming in her chest.

Inaya's eyes catch the reflection of Advay in the rearview mirror. His expression is unreadable, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. A pang of disappointment flits through her. She had hoped for a little more - a lingering touch, a stolen glance, anything to bridge the unspoken space between them.

Minutes tick by, the silence stretching into an uncomfortable tension. Inaya fidgets in her seat, trying to quell the nervous fluttering in her stomach.

Finally, Advay breaks the silence, "I had a really nice time tonight, Inaya."

Inaya's head snaps towards him, surprise flickering in her eyes. A blush creeps up her cheeks.

"Me too. Thank you for bringing me here" Inaya said, smiling

A comfortable silence settles back between them, this time laced with a newfound warmth. The car pulls to a stop in front of Inaya's house.

Inaya unbuckles her seatbelt with a hesitant smile and said, "Thanks again for dinner, Advay."

He reaches out and gently tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Their eyes meet, a spark of something unspoken passing between them.

"I... I should get going" she said as her heart was pounding

Advay pulls  back and asks hesitantly "Would you like to... do this again sometime?"
