I flopped onto my bed, the springs groaning in protest. My head pounded like a dhol. Wedding planning is a marathon, and even though it has just started, I'm already exhausted.

Just as I was about to fall asleep, my phone buzzed. I tapped the screen to read the message: "Hey, Inaya."

Text message

Advay: Hey, Inaya.

Me: Hey, Advay. What's up?

Advay: Nothing much, just got back from work.

Me: Oh, Great!

Advay: Um...Inaya...

Me: Hmm?

Advay: I was thinking, would you like to grab some Italian food with me?

I can't help but feel a flutter in my chest as I read the invitation

Me: That sounds great! I love Italian food. When are you thinking?

Advay: How about Friday night? I know a great place.

Me: That works for me!

Advay: How about 7 pm? I'll pick you up from your place.

Me: Sounds good! I'm looking forward to it.

Just then, Mom called me down for dinner. I smiled and headed downstairs. Food and then sleep, that's all I could think about now. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a little less chaotic.
