Sat on a stool, your hands cuffed behind your back, you watched as LaRow turned off the video call with the Empress. Fuckk, you were going to overthrow another government, weren't you?

Sora had completed fixing the Photacs. You weren't going to blame her, Sora -the dragon one- was being tortured. She did the honorable thing as best she could.

The Claws of Imperium ran into the Science Wing, Baldie at the front panting. "You- you called us, sir."

The purple tiger growled, snarling. "It's time. Mount up!"

Then every Photac turned on, giant wolves erupting out of them. The Claws leapt on them, dashing off without a trace.

"Huh, so is manipulating and using kids your day job? When do you do actual science? Because the only thing I've seen you do is take from my kid." You said, just above an inside voice.

Sora frowned, putting a hand over your knee. "Y/n. You're not making any of this easier." She couldn't even meet your eye.

Bumping your leg into her palm, you sighed. "Sora, it's not your fault. You don't need to feel guilty-"

"Y/n! Please! Just shut up!" Yelling, she wrapped her arms around herself. "You have done nothing, but make me even more embarrassed about who I am! I get you're trying, I do. I am not cut out for this Ninja stuff and I don't- I don't.." she sniffled, turning away. "..I don't need anybody else to lose."

You nodded, watching the floor. Damn, you were an awful mentor. You were supposed to be helping train her, not get kidnapped alongside her dragon and see her get forced to do all this.

LaRow smiled that unsettling smile once more, her green glasses reflecting onto the dark floor. "Ani, look are the majesty of our incredible Photac creatures." She grinned, holding up a camera feed.

You could barely make it out of the corner of your eye, but it was the green blotch of color on the screen that told you Lloyd was there. He was going to try and fight those things..? And where did he get his Gi back from?!

"Dreams really do come true," she continued, "instilling fear and terror into the hearts of those wild dragons.."

Sora picked up the original Photac, placing a finger over her mouth, telling you to be quiet.

"I'm sorry for these emotions, but it's just so beau-"

And Sora used said Photac to hit LaRancid over the head with and effectively knock her out. Good going.

Dorama perked up from where he was falling asleep, swinging his baton. "You foul child! Attacking the beaut- ahem.. Attacking Doctor LaRow?! I shall-"

Swinging out your leg, you tripped the crack-wizard, flicking his sparking baton into your handcuffs, turning them off. Kicking the side of his head, you knocked him into the floor, as he moaned in pain.

Sora hesitantly gave you a nod, powering down the forcefield and torture device around Dragon-Sora. She ran forward, wrapping her arms around the dragon's front leg. "Sora! You're okay!"

The dragon rumbled, purring at Sora's (the human one) affection. It glanced at you, before looking up and behind you. Dorama was groaning as he stood up, his hat squashed. She ducked her head, motioning for you and Sora to get on.

Climbing behind the teen, you sighed, looking at her. "Guess it's time to go to the real fight."

She looked back at you, as the dragon began to sprint throughout the halls. "Y/n- I'm.. sorry.. for snapping. I hadn't told anyone that I was.. you know.. not born myself. Not even Arin-! I guess.. I just worried you'd see me differently."

"Sora.. I'd never see you differently. You're an insanely smart kid and you are part of our family whether you were born the way you want, or if it took a bit. Either way you're the Sora who I mentor and I love being around. You're pretty cool, ya'know?" You smiled, interlacing your gloves into the scales of Dragon-Sora.

Sniffling, she leaned back, bumping her back into your chest. "Y/n, thank you. When I feel comfortable about it.. could you.. maybe help me come out to Lloyd, Arin, and Kai?"

You squinted as the doors broke down, introducing the bright outdoors. "Of course. Let's get to that fight, shall we?"

Eventually making it into the open clearing (well, not so open now there was a literal battle happening). Dragon-Sora skidded to a stop, beside an earth dragon.

On top of the dragon was Lloyd and Arin. They both seemed happy to see you, but we're giving Sora.. glares. Arin furred his brow. "Why did you do this Sora?! Why did you activate more Photacs?!"

Ducking from a blast hitting your head, you unwove your gloves, opening your mouth. Or you were, until Sora held an arm in front of you. "I uhm.. I understand what this looks like.. it might seem like I did something terrible.."

"Because you did!" Arin shouted before getting shushed by Lloyd.

She sighed. "Okay, but they were torturing Sor- this dragon, I couldn't just let them do that. But I built in a way to shut them all down completely and it'll be easy. I promise-"

Rapton came charging out of who knows where, and rammed into the side of Dragon-Sora, knocking over her and the earth dragon to the ground.

As such, all 4 of you were also thrown into the floor. Groaning as your head hit into the pavement, you stumbled to your feet, making sure no one was trying to actively attack you. "So, an easy way? Would be cool to go right about now, you know!"

Nodding, Sora glanced around. "Okay, so, uh- all I need is a spark from Riyu.. where.. is he?"

"Riyu is sorta.." Arin ducked under a blast from a fire dragon, grimacing. "He's uh.. sort of.. missing..?"

With a beat of silence, Sora scoffed. "What?!"

Lloyd spun over, kicking a guard in the neck, before spinning back to the group. "You both go find Riyu, WyldFyre, Y/n and I will stay here, attacking the Photacs."

WyldFyre..? "Lloyd? What even is a WyldFyre?" You frowned, knitting your brow.

He scoffed, nodding over to an orange dragon. On top of the dragon was a girl who looked no more than 12, blasting a blue-red fire out of her hands, screaming and snarling. Her bright red hair was a tangled mess as she appeared to be.. communicating with the dragons through growls..? "That my love, is a WyldFyre."

Judo flipping a Claw over your shoulder, tossing them away, you continued watching the girl. "She's... the Master of Fire..? What about Kai?"

Taking his hood down to breathe better, he shrugged. "Wish I knew. She uhm.. she takes a minute to get used to."

"Right.. why are you adopting another kid?" You rolled your eyes.

Lloyd shrugged. "Dunno, was thinking Kai could probably train her better than I could.. She still doesn't understand my power isn't some weird green fire.."

As Sora and Arin ran off on the back of Dragon-Sora, Lloyd climbed onto the back of the earth dragon. Catching a sword from him, you nodded, keeping to the ground.

For the dragons. For the team. For your kids.
