Okay wow. 150. Thats a goddamn number of chapters. So uhm. Sorry this gets so intense.

"Okay, I'm like.. only 40% sure this is gonna work.." Sora stated, staring at the basin of water. "Which is better than 39%.." She shrugged, attempting to me optimistic.

Zane nodded from the computer, finalizing preparations. He had several wires going through the bottom of the basin, ready to detect energy pulses. "I'm ready to get readings. Kai?"

He nodded, though Sora could tell he was nervous, anyone could. Stepping towards the pool of water, he stared at it awkwardly. "..Nya? Nya, are you there?" He spoke out.

Everyone else was quiet, waiting for something to happen.

Sora stood a few feet away, a layered box of Chronosteel held in her hands. The box was moreso slung in her arms, the weight too heavy to comfortably hold.

"Nya. Please, it's Kai. We heard you, we're trying to help you, show yourself. Please." He begged, placing his hands on the rim of the basin. Sora could see his knuckles turn white.

Everyone stood there in silence, watching the water ripple at his breath.

Sora frowned. Maybe for some reason it did have to do with Y/n.. she was the one who saw her the first time after all.

From beside the basin, WyldFyre cracked her knuckles, ready to tackle Kai in case anything went wrong. (And she was quite excited for her job).

"I don't- I don't think it's working.." Kai said, turning to Zane. "Anything happening?"

At the moment he turned his back, the basin began to bubble, steam filling the room. The mountain began to shake, causing the dragons below to shriek in fear.

Sora looked back at Arin, trying to ask him what to do, but instead of meeting her eye, he continued to look past her.

Lounging on the couch, you yawned, humming as Lloyd combed his fingers through your hair. You rubbed the pendant at your neck, scratching under where it laid on your chest.

You glanced up from his lap, studying his gaze. You weren't going to say anything, of course, but you could tell he was hiding something. Bringing it up wasn't going to work, hadn't worked for the past few hours. But you felt like being stupid and trying again.

He looked down at you, tilting his head. "What's wrong? Is Starfarer too boring? I could always grab another movie.." Lloyd mumbled, frowning.

Shaking your head, you raised you hand, gently holding his cheek in you hand. "Why won't you just tell me what's going on? I could help-"

Lloyd sighed, leaning down to press a silent kiss to your lips. "I wish I could tell you, but the team is worried about you."

You knitted your brow, sitting up from where your head was laid in his lap. "Worried about me? What are you saying? That I can't handle myself? I've been doing this ninja thing for almost 8 years, I've taken care of myself for even more. I-"

"I'm not saying that. Calm down for a minute. Zane mentioned how the tea leaves you take are affecting your health, and is worried that it could cause you to get injured even more." He begrudgingly explained, using the pad of his thumb to smooth out your creased brow.

Staring at him, you felt a grimace form on your lips. "So I'm being forced to retire? I just can't ever fight again?"

Lloyd shook his head, scooping you back into his lap. "It's not that. It's just for a bit that Zane wants to monitor your health. I don't want you to get hurt."
