This chapter includes a lot of unreality, a tiny bit of throwing up, character death, and me giggling as I watch these characters I love in pain.

Staring up at the ever growing rift, your heart sank. You wouldn't be able to close this. It was too unstable. Too large.

"Empress! You don't want to do this!" Lloyd shouted up at Beatrix. "You're going to destroy the whole world!"

Zane stepped forward slightly. "The Merge-quakes will reach a tipping point, causing a never ending Merge-quake storm, shattering reality as we know it!"

She laughed, glaring down at you. "Lies! You just want my power for yourselves! But my destruction of you Ninja will be legendary!"

Leaping off of the laboratory stairs, she called out to the people of Imperium. "Let this be a lesson for all who stand in my way! I am the one and only ruler of Imperium!" She blasted the gun again. Rifts began opening behind citizens, pulling them through as glitching messes. Their own bodies were splitting apart as they went through. You couldn't even tell or control what was happening inside the rifts.

"Move!" Lloyd shouted, pulling you and Zane away from where another tear formed. He kept running, more and more rifts following behind you three.

You looked around, looking for anywhere to hide. Then you spotted fire. "Up there! Kai and WyldFyre!" Coming from the other direction was also Arin, Sora, and Riyu. Running up the steps, another rift opened behind you, and you could feel it trying to draw you in.

Hiding behind rubble, you panted, waving to Kai. "Nice going with the Armory, shame Bitchatrix had all the Cores first."

He grinned, rubbing his stubble. "I am a pretty good planner." Okay well that was up for debate. "Beatrix has really gone off the deep end." He huffed, high-fiving Arin and Sora as they grouped up with everyone.

Arin frowned, pulling his hood from his head. "What do we do?"

Lloyd swallowed, pulling out his sword. "What we do best."

"..Make really bad jokes during serious fights?" Sora suggested, furring her brow.

Arin tilted his head. "Forgetting you have powers you've used in the past and never doing them again?"

Scoffing, you faced away from everyone, trying to sew up some of the smaller rifts before they could get bigger. "Those, but also saving the world. We're pretty good at that too."

With a beat to spare, Lloyd leapt out from behind the rubble, twirling his sword. "Beatrix!" He shouted, launching a blast of energy at the dictator at the same time as WyldFyre and Kai threw fireballs.

The mech did get hit, but it was still standing, barely moved.

You ushered Sora and Arin around the fight so they could get closer without being seen. They both began running forward towards the mech.

Bitchatrix took out her sword, swiping it through the air. It caused a wave of orange energy to fly outwards. Thankfully, everyone dodged it.

You used solidified air to jump over it, rolling back to your feet. Running towards her with your sword drawn, you watched WyldFyre leap in the air, hands blue and red.

"EAT FIRE!" She yelled, arching her hand back to shoot at her.

Then Beatrix launched another rift in her path.

WyldFyre screamed, but it was cut off as she was pulled into the tear. And then she was just gone.
You couldn't feel any matter left from her.

Freezing in your tracks, you weren't sure what to do. You couldn't get close without.. that happening.
