I was well and truly fighting the tides of uncertainty but Kingsley was sure. His mind was set and focused, he believed whatever was going on with Stirling ended tonight, one way or another.
You want to know the worst part? Before we left Kingsley raided Stirlings closet. He said he needed to 'blend in' but walking in there wearing Stirlings clothes was going to make him stand out like a parrot amongst the pigeons.
He pulled on the door so it opened quick, like ripping off a bandaid and together we walked down the steps of Lu's gym.
"We're closed." A chipper-pitched female voice yelled.
They were sat around the same circular table they occupied last time I was here. Kingsley, ignoring that statement, continued to walk into the room.
Lu looked at him and then looked back at Stirling, then she looked right back at Kingsley.
The men were slower to react but after a brief delay they also flicked their gazes back and forth at the twins.
Stirling sat forward in his chair and his lips parted ever so slightly. He had a look of unadulterated shock.
The doubts instantly crawled through my veins like thick ice.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He questioned. "And why are you wearing my clothes?"
