The room was unsettlingly quiet and tensions were raised beyond measure. The world was spinning too fast, I had vertigo and felt like my knees would buckle beneath me.
His hand reached up and pulled the veil off of my head, his intense eyes stared at me like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
The guards with the spears stepped forward and I stiffened believing I was about to be impaled but Stirling raised his hand to stop them.
He screwed up his lips, trying his hardest to keep all of the fierce anger that I could see radiating from him trapped inside.
His gaze dropped down my body before rising back up and stationed on my eyes.
"Who brought you here?"
I didn't answer him, I still hadn't found my voice.
"I asked you a question!" His voice clamped tightly on the rising rush of panic that had erupted within me.
"That's not important." I muttered, quiet like a startled mouse.
"Who the fuck brought her here?!" Stirling demanded of the room. His voice echoed back off the walls and fear gripped my throat, squeezing tightly.
"Me." A small voice spoke out from behind me. Lu stood up and slowly removed her own veil. "I'm sorry King, I didn't think—"
"You brought her here?" His loud voice cut her off and she stood there nibbling on her bottom lip.
I've never seen Lu look so nervous.
Fuck, I've never seen Stirling look so angry.
"I'm sorry—" she began again but he grabbed her and held his knife to her neck.
Her eyes were drenched in fear and pain, looking into mine and silently screaming for help.
"I will fucking kill you for this!" His voice bellowed over the whole room.
Lu swallowed and put on a brave face, "that's not smart. My father won't allow you to conduct your business in the gym like I do. You need me."
Piping hot rage flashed across Stirlings face and that blade dug deeper into her flesh.
"Oh yeah? Well maybe I should fucking decapitate you and send him your head via courier service. Dress it up with roses, make it look pretty to try and sweeten him up."
Her face was turning an unnatural purplish hue the more he cut. Blood trickled down and soaked into her lingerie. Tears fell abundantly as she released silent screams.
"Stirling stop!" I had tears running down my own face like shards of glass, everything hurt. "Stirling stop, you're going to kill her!"
"That's the fucking idea Anderson, this bitch deserves to die!" He answered with his teeth grit tight. Lu's eyes were lulling back into her skull, losing all consciousness.
"Stirling stop!" I tried again, using one of my hands to keep my torn bra in place, the other to pull him away from her throat.
The room was deathly silent, everyone just watching Stirling slit a throat without any sense of shock about them.
"Will you fucking stop him?" I yelled to his guards but they didn't move, they only moved on his command.
Fuck, why wasn't anyone reacting to this?
Is that honestly how usual his behaviour is?
"Stirling she's my friend," I cried, "stop please?"
We looked into one another's eyes as he took in my plea. He let go of her throat and shoved her to the ground. I wanted to drop to the floor and immediately check if she was okay but he grabbed my wrist and in one sharp pull he yanked my band off.
