Chapter 8

After what happened yesterday, L and you grew a lot
closer. Before you guys were on a strict coworker only basis, but now you were kind of friendly with each other. But you couldn't have fun for too long, because your jobs were holding you back.

Today, L decided to bring you with him to the Task Force.

„Y/N? Are you awake?" He asked from behind your door, softly knocking.

You've been on the job for about 3 weeks now, but since It was Saturday, so you didn't think you'd be working so early today. Guess you thought wrong.
"Hah.. Yeah.. come in." You stated, rubbing your eyes and allowing him to enter.

"We have a meeting regarding the Naomi Misora case." L told you while opening the door

"If you want some breakfast, come to the kitchen" He left after saying that.

"Alright... Thanks"

Yawning and stretching, you get up and put on some presentable clothes, doing your hair etc. When done, you went to eat something with L. You should've expected the table to be filled with sweetsz

"Hey L, when is Light gonna start working alongside you?"

"Soon, i'm assuming. Why?"

"I don't trust that kid at all. Something just feels off, I can't put my finger on it though."

"I agree. Something about him is just too cheesy and perfect. He's 17 and acting like that, you have every right to be suspicious." He reassured, smacking his lips while eating a croissant.

You hummed in response, deep in thought. Quite some time must've passed.

"Y/N, its almost time to go"

"Oh right, my bad" you said standing up and walking towards the exit door alongside L.

You don't know why, but something just made you worried. Like something was gonna go really wrong.
Well, there's no going back now.

"L, Do you have a bad feeling too? Something is just rubbing me the wrong way."

"Depends what you mean. I've always had a bad feeling while working on this case, due to its supernatural nature. Why do you ask? Is everything alright?"

"Yeah i'm fine. Just a bit scared I suppose."

"That's normal. Don't overthink it too much."

When you both got into the elevator, the awkward silence got unbearable.

"So... Are there any leads on the case?" you tried breaking the silence.

"Kind of. It was a suicide, but I doubt she would do that. I've worked with her in the past, and she doesn't seem the type to go commit suicide after her fiancé dies. Also, her body couldn't be found."

"Could she have any connections to Kira? Like a feud maybe?"

"That's what i was thinking, but we need evidence. If we could only find her body..."

Ding.
Exiting the elevator together, Both of you enter the car.

At the Task force Headquarters..

Slamming the door open, L walks straight to his sofa,
getting into his usual sitting position.

„Alright everyone, This is A/n, she's working undercover to spy on Light Yagami specifically.
Our plan is to bait him, if he's Kira he'll try to manipulate her into hating me and telling him information about me. Please don't mention her and act like you don't know her." He explained his plan as he looked at you, still at the door and patted the place next to him, signaling you to sit down.
