CHAPTER 16

Réunion

Time has flown by and another month is behind us, with the chill of winter creeping in. Arina, who is currently residing in the UK, is constantly bustling around her cafe shop. As Christmas draws near, she and Vincent have planned a surprise. They're taking their two children, Maru and Tina, who are on school break, on a trip back to Japan. The purpose? A surprise visit to Arina's parents and her brother Naoki's family. Arina has already informed her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sato, about their arrival this coming Saturday. However, she's asked them to keep this visit a secret from Naoki and Rachy.

On a bright Saturday morning at Naoki's residence, both Naoki and Rachy were up with the sun. While Rachy and the housemaid busied themselves in the kitchen, whipping up a delicious breakfast, Naoki was engrossed in adorning the Christmas tree. Meanwhile, Yoh, Tenn, and Riku were still nestled in their beds, lost in dreams.

Once Naoki had put the finishing touches on the Christmas tree, he sank into the comfort of the sofa, flicking on the television to catch up on the news. As he was flipping through the channels, he spotted a familiar face - Zyron, Rachy's brother, was being featured on the news.

"Dear, come take a look at this," Naoki called out to Rachy, "Zyron's on the news!"

Rachy emerged from the kitchen, balancing two steaming cups of coffee. She placed them on the table and settled down next to Naoki. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of Zyron, performing live in concert alongside his mentor, GACKT, in Singapore.

Rachy mused aloud, "So that's why mom mentioned he'd be traveling to Singapore and Malaysia. She even asked him to bring back some local products from both places."

Naoki: "I've heard that his master has been residing in Kuala Lumpur for quite some time now.."

Rachy: "Yes, that's true.. I've always known that GACKT was reluctant to take on students.. I wonder what made him take Zyron under his wing!?"

Naoki: "Could it be that Zyron has a singing talent just like him!?"

Rachy: "That would make sense..."

The maid emerged from the kitchen and announced, "Mrs Sato, breakfast is ready.."

Rachy: "Alright..."

Sato: "I'll go check on our boys, see if they're awake yet.."

Rachy: "Please don't wake them, it's only 7 in the morning.. Yoh-chan just started his school holiday, so let him sleep in.."

Naoki: "Alright dear, I'll just peek in on them.. I'll be right back.."

Naoki ascended to the rooms to check if their sons were awake. He gently opened Yoh's room to find Yoh still sound asleep, clutching his teddy bear. He then moved to the twins' room, quietly opening the door to find Tenn and Riku cuddled up together in their sleep. Naoki smiled, whispering, "It seems like they're all still in dreamland.. So adorable..."
After ensuring their sons were still asleep, Naoki returned to the dining room to enjoy breakfast with his wife.

An hour had passed, and in the shared bedroom of the twins, Tenn stirred from his slumber. He glanced over at Riku, who was still sleeping, his arm wrapped around Tenn's in a gentle embrace. The room was comfortably warm, a testament to the heater that had been running throughout the night. A thought crossed Tenn's mind about the impending high electricity bill.

Tenn mused, "Our parents have always kept the heater on during the winter since we were babies... I can only imagine how costly the monthly bills must be..."

Tenn's gaze fell upon the clock, which read 8:10 in the morning. He attempted to rouse Riku from his sleep, only to hear him murmuring in his dreams, "Tenn-nii..... Donuts.... Hehehe... More Donuts....."

Tenn chuckled, "What kind of dreams are you having, Riku? A donut party with me?"

Watching Riku laugh in his sleep, Tenn couldn't help but comment, "You're still as adorable as the Riku I've always known..."

Tenn: "Riku, it's time to rise and shine... Riku.... Riku...."

Riku: "Uhhhh...... Good morning, Tenn-nii...."

Tenn: "We have to get up now, Riku...."

Riku, rubbing his eyes and stretching: "Alright.."

A minute later, the door creaks open and Yoh walked into the room. He sees the twins are already up and about starting to get dressed. Yoh approaches them and says, "Good morning Tenn-chan, Riku-chan, let's go brush your teeth. Then we can head downstairs for breakfast."

Tenn and Riku, acknowledging their elder brother Yoh, head to the bathroom to brush their teeth and then make their way to the dining room for breakfast.
