Look, Darkstalker is like a brother to me. But he has always had a dark mind. An animus, Jerboa killed both of his parents infront of him at a young age.

Ever since then he was always a little dark. That sense as a child of purity was ripped from him. And he is now the way he is.

But I've seen his memories, when he was with Clearsight he was pure again. I get that feeling.

And now, after Winter's shocking news, he is very angry at himself. And every Icewing for possibly killing Clearsight.

Sometimes I wonder if Darkstalker and me weren't loyal to eachother that he might just go evil.

I've learned to hide those thoughts from him. Don't need to tip him over.

Everyone else was out looking for materials to build a boat, but I stayed behind with Darkstalker.

"Are you ok?" I ask him after a moment.

He looks up at me, other than the intense aurora coming off of him, his expression gave me nothing.

"Look, I know that it's crazy and super unfair, for you and Clearsight. But you and I both know that you're going to have to choose." I say.

He nods.

"I'm not sure what to do." he says. I nod.

"Darkstalker, I wouldn't lose hope on her. When we looked for that future nothing came up. But it was like there was a shield keeping us from seeing anything." I say.

Before he can reply I keep talking.

"I'm going to support either choice. You're one of my closest friends, and I really want you to be happy. Clearsight made you happy. And in nearly any other scenario I would go with you. But I can't- and I'm sorry for that. Regardless, I won't put it against you if you decide to go find her. I would do the same for Qibli." I add.

Darkstalker nods deep in thought. His whole life, all he had to do was look to the future and find the answer. But, now he has to make a crucial decision not knowing what the outcome will be. And for him that's scary.

I've been doing that for most of my life. Just like everyone else. Even with Sunset I can't tell, neither can Darkstalker.

Darkstalker looks at the ground. "I'm going to come with you. I love Clearsight. And her not being here is like, like a big hole in my chest. And sometimes it really hurts. It sort of feels hard to breathe, and I feel like I can't move. But you're also my best friend, and the thought of you losing Sunset, is almost as bad as losing Clearsight. Except Sunset really is alive. Clearsight might still be long gone. I owe it to you to help you find Sunset." he says finally.

I hug him. "Thank you Darkstalker. And for the record, when Sunset comes home, I will go with you to find Clearsight. It's the least I can do." I say.

"You dont have to-" he starts. "Darkstalker, I'm coming." I say. He shuts his mouth as the corners of his lips rise up slightly.

"Alright fine." he agrees. I grin. Winter appears. I look up. He looks annoyed. I let go of Darkstalker.

"I just thought you guys might need some more firewood." Winter says quietly.

"What's wrong?" I ask. His mind is closed off, his thoughts were unclear.

"Can I talk to you?" he asks. I nod slowly.

Darkstalker, keep an eye. I don't exactly trust this guy that much.

No problem Moon.

I follow Winter feeling better knowing Darkstalker is ready to attack if anything happens.
