- SunsetMy heart pounded relentlessly.
I was going to fight. It all suddenly felt real as I stood beside Asher a sword in hand.
Everyone that I've known my whole life gathered around me, infront of the border where Wasp's army waited on the other side.
I glanced at Asher, he had his jaw clenched. He wasn't afraid to fight.
I turned to him suddenly and hugged him.
It was completely impulsive but I'm glad I did it.
He hugged me back.
"Stay alive." I whisper pulling back. He smiles. "I'll try, just because you asked."
I smile and kiss his cheek. We both blush but turn back to the battle scene.
Finally, the first steps over the border, and everything starts.
Hundreds of soldiers erupt from their hiding spots immediately.
Here goes nothing.
I grip my sword tightly and charge.
At first I slashed mindlessly my nerves ramping up.
But eventually, my adrenaline starts working in my favor, and I'm ducking attacks and hitting people with my sword knocking them out.
People were going down left and right.
And for one foolish moment, I actually thought, Maybe we can win this.
Then I spotted Aunt Glory.
Bound to a tree, guarded by three guys.
She had cuts along her arms and her wrists were probably covered in rope burn.
She had a gag in her mouth and a long cut on her collarbone.
Other than the murderous look in her eyes, she was about as ok as I could have hoped for someone in her situation.
I sprinted towards one of the three guys and sent a punch straight to his face catching him off guard.
Immediately the other two were on me.
I kicked the first one and he fell.
The second one swung his sword at me.
I ducked barely missing the sharp blade and swung my own.
I was about to swing again when two hands grabbed me from behind.
The third guy.
I can't believe I let him out of my sight!
No no no!
The second soldier grinned at me. "Sorry kid."
My heart dropped as he lifted his sword.
Glory screamed trying to distract them. His sword came down and I closed my eyes.
A clanging noise echoed in my ears.
I opened my eyes.
"Moon?" I asked shocked.
"The one and only." she replied knocking his blade out of his hand and hitting him with her own.
I sent my elbow to the last guy's face, he went down immediately.
Moon turned to me putting a hand on my shoulder inspecting me quickly.
"Thank you." I breathed. She smiled. "Couldn't let my kid die now could I?" she asked.
I smiled softly. "Let's get Aunt Glory."
