-5 years ago, Mexico City-
I was exhausted, ready to call it a day until, "Get rid of her. Your apprenticeship is not working out in my favor." I was in the president's office, flabbergasted by what he just ordered me to do. "What do you mean!? She's been doing amazing. She hasn't failed me once and it hasn't even been a year since she started -" he slammed his fist against his desk. "I didn't ask for your opinion. Don't make me do your work." I walked out of his office furiously. He has been the worst president I have worked under. I looked up to the clear blue sky as I took some breaths to calm down my anger. "Hey Volten! I got your favorite drink!" I look back down and I see my enthusiastic side-kick that was assigned to work along with me. Stormy was only 18 years old and had been under my wig for about 7 months now as my side-kick. Her quirk was manipulating the weather within 400 meters. Stormy was full of life and the most optimistic kid I have ever met. "Is everything ok?" She scans my face trying to read me. "Of course kiddo! Come on, let's go rest." I smiled as I messed up her curly brown hair.
I thought I had time to figure out a plan on how to keep her by my side, but that same night I woke up to a distress call from her. "Volten, where are you?! I'm actually scared!"
"What happened, what's wrong?" I get up from my bed quickly changing into my uniform. "You sent me a message that you needed back-up as soon as possible and -" the call dropped. I was never on a mission. I was at home sleeping and I would never send her to a mission by herself no matter how small it was. I tracked the location from the call but when I arrived there was no sign of her. I couldn't find her anywhere. She disappeared from the world without a trace as if she was never even borned.
"How could you end the search party after one day?!" I cried out to the President. "We don't have the time and money to waste on Stormy. Life doesn't stop for a simple pro-hero." "Stormy? You're calling her Stormy over her actual name at this moment? Cici is your daughter dammit!" I couldn't stop crying. How can a man who is leading a country be so cold? Especially towards his daughter. I started to think he could have been behind this. A week went by and her tracker suddenly appeared on my screen. It led to a dessert and that is where her body was located. Buried deep down. I can tell she fought until the end. I cried as I held her close to me. "I'm so sorry Cici! I'm so sorry!" Her death really struck me and it was at the moment I knew I don't ever want to work with me ever again.
-Present Day-
All Might and I arrived at the hospital where we were told the students were transferred to. "Excuse me, we're both teachers at UA and we got informed that some of our students have been admitted here. May you please tell us which rooms the students are in?" We waited eagerly as the nurse types some stuff in her computer and hands me over a clipboard . "Here is the list of the rooms of all the students that were admitted." I scanned it over quickly, "Twenty-seven?!" All might was in shocked just like me. Twenty-seven of our students were injured. Guilt was quickly starting to build inside of me and eating me alive more and more, as we made our trips to each room. Each student either ran to my or All Might's arms and broke down on how scared they were. Some of the students tried to brush it off saying it wasn't that bad, but we were able to see them holding back the tears. It broke my heart, they shouldn't be going through this at such a young age.
We made it to the last room. Midoriya was unconscious and he looked seriously injured. The doctors let us know that he will most likely be in that condition for the next few days. "We should have gone to their camp. None of this would have happened if we were there. This is all our fault. We're -" "Enough already!" I snapped at All might. "All this negative talk is not going to help anyone. What's done, it's done. What we need to do is to strategize and get Bakugo back." I take a seat next to Midoriya's bed. "They're just kids, Toshinori. They shouldn't be going through this at all. We need to protect them at all costs." I slumped my head forward, feeling the stress on my whole body.
