Ryoko's POV

As I fled from Marito's intimidating presence, I sought refuge in Matakara's humble abode. His room exuded simplicity, a stark contrast to my own.

"Ryo-Nee..." Matakara's gentle voice broke the silence, drawing my attention away from my sleeping brother. "Hmm?" I shifted my gaze from Arajin to Matakara.

"Have you ever considered joining Minato Kai?" Matakara's question catch me off guard. "Why the sudden interest?" My eyes widened at the suddenness of his proposition.

Matakara scratched his head sheepishly. "Well, I figured having you on board might make it easier to convince Ara-chan to join," he confessed, his honesty surprising me.

I couldn't help but react, pulling him into a playful chokehold. "Since when did you become such a schemer?" I teased with a mixture of annoyance and affection as I tousled his hair.

His sweet laughter echoed in the room, melting away my anger. "So, what do you say?" Matakara asked, breaking free from my grasp.

"No way," I replied adamantly, my decision firm. Matakara chuckled knowingly. "I had a feeling you'd say that," he said, taking a seat beside me against the wall.

"I just can't bring myself to step into that world," I muttered, my gaze fixed on the floor. Matakara nodded in understanding leaning against my shoulder.

Arajin stirred from his slumber, his groans of pain breaking the stillness. "Ouch! Ow... Nee-san?" He sat up, rubbing his eyes sleepily as he surveyed the scene before him confused.

"Ara-chan... Do you remember anything?" Matakara asked hopefully as I awaited Arajin's response. My brother shook his head, a bewildered expression on his face.

"You punched Marito-kun! It was wonderful!" Matakara exclaimed, excited.

"What about Mahoro-chan?! Ugh! I shouldn't have hit her brother." Arajin's face contorted with frustration as he reflected on the repercussions of his actions against Marito.

Matakara and I exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of what to do or say.

Arajin's gaze shifted to the single table in the room, where a forever stone lay.

"Oh, do you remember that..." Matakara's voice softened as he fondly recalled the stone, explaining its significance in making them stronger.

"You... probably don't have it anymore, huh...?" Matakara's tone turned somber as he voiced his realization. Arajin remained silent, rising from his seat to don his attire.

"It's been so long, I don't remember much about it... Well, bye..." Arajin's departure was swift, leaving a sense of melancholy in the room.

"Guess I'll head out too..." I sighed, retrieving my phone from the table.

"I'll walk you to the gate..." Matakara joined me and Arajin, accompanying us until we reached the exit of his house.

"Think about it, Ryo-Nee... I was asking you seriously..." Matakara's earnest plea tugged at my heartstrings, prompting me to smile softly.

"Don't expect too much though..." I teased lightly, handing him my phone.

"Well, it'd be nice to have a girl in the group... Siguma has so many while we don't," Matakara remarked casually, exchanging contact information before I returned my phone to my pocket.

"See you tomorrow, brat!" I affectionately ruffled Matakara's hair before Arajin and I made our way towards the bus station.

"Nee, let's take him on, nee!" An excited Senya, now a miniature genie, popped out of Arajin's piercing.
