Ryoko's POV
The doors swung open with a suddenness that startled us all. Standing in the doorway, loomed the imposing figure of Marito, the notorious boss from Siguma.
Zabu tensed, instinctively moving forward, "What the hell are you doing?" Before fe could finish a swift kick sent him stumbling backward.
"What business do you have here?" Matakara challenged his gaze head-on. "I've got a debt to repay. Show your face, Kenichiro!" Marito's voice sliced through the air.
I remained silent, my mind calculating the risks, aware of the chaos that both Siguma and Minato Kai had faced.
Suddenly, the door from the inside creaked open, revealing the shadowy figure of Kenichiro, his presence commanding the room.
Without hesitation, Marito lunged forward with a roundhouse kick aimed at Kenichiro, but before his foot could connect, Matakara stepped in, intercepting the blow with a swift defensive move.
Marito's momentum carried him forward, but with a deft twist, Matakara countered, sending him sprawling to the ground. "Matakara!" Zabu rushed to aid his fallen friend and I rose to my feet.
As Marito surged forward, his fist aimed at Kenichiro but I intercepted his attack, blocking the blow with my arm. Marito recoiled, though his rage evident in the fire of his eyes.
'Damn, that hurt.'
"Ryoko... step back..." Marito's warned but I couldn't help but scoff. "Look where you are before talking, this is our territory," I retorted with defiance.
"Why? Please, at least tell us the reason," Matakara implored his tone respectful but firm. Kenichiro's grip tightened on my shoulders, prompting me to move out of Marito's direct line of sight.
"Answer that yourself, chickenshit!" Jabashiri's sudden appearance behind Marito added another layer of menace to the confrontation.
"Screw you, punk! You're the ones playing dirty!" Zabu's exclaimed as both leaders faced off.
"You're the asshole cowards who ganged up and jumped our guys and left them spread out like that!" Zabu's accusation rang out. "Like what?" Jabashiri retorted, feigning innocence.
"You stuck them in those flashy boxers! Right?!" Zabu demanded, his voice rising each second, their faces inches apart.
"Huh?! Well, you strung our guys up in trashy fundoshi!" Jabashiri shot back with disdain as he squared up to Zabu and smacked his head with his own.
"Zabu! Why, you..." Komao moved to strike, but I swiftly intercepted his motion, gripping his wrist firmly. "Hold it! Stop resorting to violence for everything!" I warned.
"Zabu, calm down!" Matakara urged his friend to refrain from escalating the conflict with Jabashiri.
As tensions simmered, Marito made a bold gesture, removing our gang's band and hurling it to the ground. "What's that?" Matakara's expression darkened as he scowled at the object in his hand.
"Oh, this little thing? It was lying on the ground next to Outa," Marito replied nonchalantly, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Minato guys would never do something so cowardly. Even you must realize that!" Matakara defended our gang.
Marito rolled his eyes, dismissing Matakara's defense, and then pointed an accusatory finger at me.
As all eyes fell on me, I instinctively flinched under the weight of their scrutiny. "She was there with me, you can ask her if I'm lying," Marito asserted, placing a heavy burden on my shoulders.
