Ryoko's POV

"Yukimura! I really wish... I could've taken you on!" Senya's scream pierced through the air, audible only to Arajin and me. It had been a week since Marito proposed, and I had rejected him.

"Ara-chan. I have something to say," Marakara addressed Arajin, who seemed perpetually bored. The school day had ended, and we were preparing to head home.

"I want you to join Minato Kai. I saw you send Marito-kun flying with one punch, and it—" Marakara's passionate speech was abruptly interrupted as members of their rival gang entered the room.

"Coming through," a blue and pink-haired duo entered, adorned with similar necklaces to Minato.

"Jabashiri! What are you Siguma playboys doing here?" Zabu confronted the taller man with the same hair colors but different shades, only to receive a head slam in return.

"Zabu!" Komao, his friend rushed to tend to him, now unconscious. "What, what? What is happening?" Arajin started panicking.

"You first years don't start fights so easily," I sighed, rubbing my temples in exasperation. "What do you think you're doing?" Matakara challenged Jabasiri, the two rivals locking eyes.

"Outta the way, Matakara. I've got business with the shrimp over there," Jabasiri replied, prompting me to step off the table I was sitting on.

"Nee-Chan! Help!!" Arajin's pleaded as he sought refuge behind me.

"With Ara-chan? Well, you might have to take up that 'business' with me instead," Matakara replied, surprising me with his boldness.

"Wait a minute." I approached them, uncertain of where this confrontation would lead.

"Fine by me. I've been waiting to slaughter you," Jabashiri retorted, his tone dripping with hostility as he prepared to face off against Matakara.

"Stop!" I quickly positioned myself between them, my voice laced with urgency.

"I said stop!! Why do you have to fight for everything?!" I intervened, pushing both of them back to create some distance.

"Ryo-Nee, I'll be fine," Matakara assured me, patting my head gently. My worry for him only intensified, but before I could protest further, Jabashiri snapped at me.

"Hey, young lady, he himself doesn't mind. What's your problem?" he demanded impatiently. I hesitated for a moment before finally relenting.

"Fine, but under one condition," I stated firmly, raising my finger to emphasize my point. Both of them looked intrigued, awaiting my terms.

"Let me be the referee," I proposed, causing a ripple of surprise and murmurs among the other students in the class.

"Ha! Step outside," Jabashiri smirked, motioning for us to follow him. But not before adding his two cents directed at Arajin. "Tomoshibi! I'm gonna take my time with you when I get back!"

As we walked out, the students watched us as if we were actors in a show. Matakara's giggles broke the tension, and I couldn't help but feel a warmth in my heart at his infectious laughter.

"What are you getting all giddy for?" I asked, annoyed but unable to suppress a small smile.

"Hehe, you joining me is kinda fun!" Matakara replied, his smile widening as we walked to the middle of the school grounds, near the fountain.

"Now, haven't you become a troublemaker," I teased, ruffling his hair affectionately as he chuckled in response.

"Will you join Minato Kai now?" Matakara asked slyly, but I immediately shut him down. "No!!" I snapped, my tone firm as I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket.
