I grab everything. My dance bag. My charger. My radio. My iPhone. My old iPod. Most of my clothes. A sleeping bag. Toiletries. And all that junk. I check my phone and once more..there's hateful notifications. I ignore them. I almost didn't notice a text from Gino.
Gino: Trust me. ❤️
I ignore him. He calls. And he calls. And he calls again. I still ignore him.
I finally reply:
Busy..
which wasn't really a lie.
I give Kenzie a long hug. "When will you be back?" Kenzie says. "I, I dunno. But feel free to text me or FaceTime me okay?" I say. Kenzie looks scared for me. "Mom." I say. My mom is just scrolling on her Facebook page ignoring me. "Mom? I'm leaving. The taxi picks me up in 3 minutes." I say. "Right, yeah, the taxi..um, oh my gosh it's my old friend Lacey she just friended me.." Oh my gosh. Sometimes I hate my mom she just ignores me.Finally the taxi comes. I feel tension between the taxi and my house. I wave a Kenzie, and she gives me a crooked smile.
Gino texts me again:
I'm the driver.
