Keefe thought it was over. He thought the constant thoughts of the Neverseen that plagued his mind would fade away. He thought his mom was finally out of his life. But no, the monster in him was trying to claw it's way out, he could feel his throat tingling from the command he was so desperately trying to stop.

It took Keefe a moment to realize that he had said it out loud and everyone froze on the spot.

An icy voice cut in his mind, sounding like his mother's,

Keefe could feel his sanity slowly slipping away.

A sweet melodic voice echoed in his mind, a cyclone pushing all the thoughts he previously had out of his mind.

Sophie

He was so broken, that even his mental voice cracked.

He wasn't really, but he wasn't about to show that to Sophie. But Sophie already saw what happened.

Keefe had been stuck in his own swirl of thoughts, that he hadn't noticed that a swarm of dwarves surrounded the whole crowd, trapping everyone who had come to watch the graduation. He had to get everything back to normal. He'd have to stop this. He'd have to bury all his feelings once again. He'd have to turn off his emotions, once again. He felt the tingling command at his throat,

"Resume," Everyone in the whole crowd blinked and looked around, before remembering that they were being ambushed by the Neverseen. Everyone started to panic, but stayed put, noticing the menacing looks on the dwarves. Keefe still saw Sophie on the stage, trembling but had a fixed expression. She wasn't backing down anymore.
