Chapter 36

Previously on Chapter 35

"I love you too, Ukyo..." I said. He cups the side of my cheek, leaning down to place another soft kiss. I smile into the kiss as I kiss him passionately. I pour all of my longing feelings into that kiss, showing him how much I've missed him. Nothing beats being in the arms of the person we love. I love Ukyo... and being able to be in his arms again is everything.

Y/N P.O.V

It's obvious that wanting to search for the source of oil. We'd need a map. But we can't use the one we had back then, since the geography of planet earth have changed after over 3,700 years have passed. Which means, the first thing we need to do is to create a new world map.

I've developed my telekinetic abilities into flight. Also known as psionic. So now I can soar up into the sky. Which makes it easier since we can cover more space. The process of making the new world map would be faster too.

"Oi, Senku... which part should I cover now?" I asked, while flying next to the hot air balloon. He turn to look at me. He turns towards the distance and points there. "Roger, captain" I said, mocking a salute. Which makes him roll his eyes. I let out a laugh and turn towards that direction. I fly towards it and try to remember every corner of the land.

I land on the ground and stumbles as my body starts to feel like it's shutting down.  I fall on my knees as I feel blood dripping out of my nose. I hear the sound of rapid footsteps rushing towards me. I turn my head weakly to see Ukyo. He rushes to kneel down next to me, placing his hands on my shoulders.

"Are you okay?" He asked. He place his hand under my nose as he gently wipe the blood that had flowed out of it. "Is it time for another shot?" He asked. I just nod my head weakly. He nods his head. He gently places one of his hands behind my knees and on my back. He stands up with me in his arms.

He enters our shared tent. He gently lowered me down on the makeshift bed. He walks towards the container I had placed not far from the makeshift bed. He opens the box and starts preparing it.

He walks over to me, kneeling down next to me. I tilt my head slightly, allowing him to inject the serum into my neck. I wince as I feel the needle piercing through my skin. I feel the liquid entering my body.

Ukyo pulls me into his embrace, wrapping his arms around me. I lean my body against his. I close my eyes as I wait for the serum to start working.

I feel my body regaining its strength. I slowly open my eyes and turn to look at Ukyo. "Better?" He asked. I just smile softly and nod my head. I move my body from his and stands up. Ukyo keeps his arms outstretched, just in case I might fall over.

"I'm fine, Ukyo..." I said, gently patting his chest. He let out a sigh and finally lowers his hand. He still looks like he's worried that I might collapse any moments. I smile softly at him. I lift my hands, gently cupping his cheeks. "Oh, you worried too much" I said.

"I can't help it, okay? Watching you collapse is just so terrifying. I'm scared that what if you collapse, and you'd never wake up again" he said. His voice cracks a little as he speaks. My eyes soften at his words. I gently wrap my arms around him. He returns my embrace, burying his face into the crook of my neck.

"I can't promise anything about that. But I will try my best to always be okay for you" I said. He just tighten his arms around me. I feel my shirt getting wet, letting me know that he's crying. "Please don't cry, Ukyo. You're making me feel bad" I said.

"I'm sorry... I can't help it" he said. He slowly pulls away to look at me. I cup his cheeks, gently wiping away the tears. He leans his face into my touch as I continue to caress his pale skin. "I love you, Y/N... I love you so much" he said.

"I love you too, Ukyo" I said, in a soft voice as a smile softly to myself while letting my body sinks deeper into his warmth. I love being in his arms. Before meeting him, I find it hard to trust people because of what had happened to me in that horrible place.

The only people I'm able to tolerate are the two lovely couples that took me in, and treated me as if I were their own. I'll make sure Senku will success in rebuilding the society and save all humans. When I finally get the two of them back, I'll make sure to show my gratitude and be the daughter they always wanted me to be.

I tighten my arms around Ukyo. "Is everything okay? Do you feel pain?" I hear him asked, as if he notices my sadness. I pull away to look at him. He lift his hands as he gently cups my cheeks. He gently wipe the tears I didn't notice I had shed. "What's wrong, hm? Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.

"I just... I miss the couple that found me and took me in. They loved me like a real daughter. They were so kind to me. They were the first people that ever treated me like a human and not a killing machine because of what I can do. But I treated them like trash" I said. More tears starts to stream down my cheeks.

Ukyo's eyes soften at what I said. "Hey... it's okay. We'll bring everyone back, okay? Including the couple that acted like your loving parents" He said, while running his thumb gently along my skin. He smiles softly and place a soft kiss on my forehead. "Come here" he said, softly. He gently pulls me into his embrace. I lean my head against his chest. He gently rub my back, trying his best to calm me. I clutch onto the back of his shirt as I start to cry more.

After a while, I finally calmed down. I slowly pull away from Ukyo. He smiles softly at me as he gently wipe the tears from my eyes. He leans his forehead against mine.

"Everything will be okay..." he whispered softly. I just smile softly at him. He always knows how to calm me. He closes his eyes. He leans down, as he gently places his soft kiss against my lips. I close my eyes, kissing him back softly. I feel my heart starts to beat faster as we both shared a kiss. Ukyo's the only one who can make me feel this way. I love him so much. I'm so glad that I can be in his arms once again.
