"I think I am falling for you Mallik." Karishma whispered. She knew Haseena was going to let her down. It didn't matter that she was going to be kind. It was so unlike her to fall for someone as uptight and critical of her as Haseena was but that was what was happening anyway. She had no control over the way she had started to feel for Haseena. It was the feeling of having someone to lean on at the time of adversities just how darn much she found Haseena attractive and the fact that she cared for her in a way no one ever had.
"You are?" Haseena asked with a smile and Karishma looked on with confusion.
"Yes. I- Yes I am."
"Theek hai." Haseena's casual response scared her but her smile gave her some hope and so did her blushing cheeks.
"Theek hai? Seriously? Tumko idea bhi hai ye kehne ke liye kitna waqt laga hai mujhe?" She exclaimed, clearly offended.
"Singh humari poori baat sunn lijiye. Bhari hui bhandook kaheen ki." Karishma stuck her tongue out at her and Haseena shook her head at her silliness.
"I want you to come back to me and say those words again when you don't think so but you know so." Haseena held eye contact with a knowing smile and Karishma realised that she had said she "thinks" she is falling. How level minded Haseena was to notice such a small slip of her tongue, she wondered to herself very impressed with the woman who had found many new ways to fascinate her every other day.
"Tumko mere aise feel karne se koi problem nahi hai?" Karishma asked, her amusement at this conversation was exceeding limit by now.
"Nahi. Hum jaante hai humare beech kuch toh hai. Shadeed sa. Paak sa. Jisko shabdon mein bayaan karna mushkil hai. Aur hum bhi aapke liye kuch na kuch mehsoos karne lage hai.." Karishma gaped. She felt like her heart would hammer its way out of the ribcage. She could feel her cheeks getting warmer and the unfamiliar feeling of jittery happiness coursed throughout her body. She grinned widely as the feeling sunk in. It seemed like she was at an all time high because Haseena too had feelings for her. Haseena scratched her brow looking elsewhere because Karishma's grin made her blush even more than she already was.
"Hum jo mehsoos karte hai woh itna gehra hai humein tab patah chala jab hum bina soche samjhe kal Abbu ko call lagaye te after years so I could keep you from risking your life aur phir aapke gusse se itne hurt hue ki saalon baadh Ammi ki yaad aagayi." Karishma smiled sheepishly.
"I am sorry I didn't mean any of that in fact mujhse se jyada koi nahi chahta ki Shivani ke saamne jo natak kar rahe hai woh sach nikhle. I would be happy even if a part of it turned out to be true." Haseena realised how causally Karishma confessed to her, her deepest desires as if they both were laying out their heart before one another not really afraid of getting hurt or being judged.
"For the sake of Kiara humko kuch bhi karne se pehle sau baar soch lena chahiye. I want us to be sure." Haseena declared as if she was cracking a business deal and wasn't talking about her feelings.
"Kya ho tum?" Karishma laughed in amusement.
"Practical?" Haseena suggested after thinking for a few seconds and Karishma narrowed her eyes, considering her answer before nodding in agreement.
"So we wait? Jab tak hum ek dusre ko leke 100% sure ho jaaye?" Karishma asked and Haseena nodded. She didn't want to wait. At all. But this seemed like the responsible thing to do and she knew where this came from. From being raised by parents who eventually split she knew this was a result of Haseena fearing a similar outcome for Kiara.
"Hum chahte hai ki Kiara grows up in a home where the people that raise her are together because they are in love with each other." Haseena repeated what she had told Pushpa ji and Karishma realised that Haseena had thought this through already. She was very clear with the way she felt, very level headed and that's why they brought balance to each other. She was as erratic as a burning fire and Haseena was as calm as still water.
