Karishma took careful steps towards the waiting area the effects of the IV keeping her slow, her eyes scanned the entire place for Haseena and found her standing outside below the huge entrance absently looking at her phone. The call was from Mira and Haseena had to send Pushpa ji home because Kiara was up and Mira and Amar weren't really good at handling her.
Karishma dialled her number not wanting to risk walking up to her, getting scolded for a whole another reason.
"Hey." Haseena answered, her voice an indication of the whirl of her thoughts.
"Baby." Karishma said in a low voice Haseena's demeanour was exuding sadness and Karishma was heartbroken for being the reason behind that. Haseena hummed in response. She could get used to Karishma addressing her like that her heart slightly aching to be with Karishma, already missing her presence.
"Kya hum baat karke isko sort out kar sakte hai like grown ups? Mein tumse ladna nahi chahti hun it makes me want to puke." Haseena chuckled.
"Yes. Hum wapis aah rahe hai rakhte hai." She turned and caught sight of Karishma wiggling her brows with a goofy smile. She waved her hand at Haseena and Haseena shook her head angrily walking up to Karishma holding her right arm she snapped. "Kya zarurat hai aise akele mein aane ki. Agar raste mein girr wirr gayi aur kuch toot woot gaya toh? Patah nahi akal kahaan rehti hai aapki aur itni badi detective kaise bann gayi ye." Haseena continued with her scoldings steering Karishma towards the room. Karishma laughed at her scolding but went silent on receiving a glare from Haseena.
"Aur humko kab batane waali thi about that nomination? Kya humko itna bhi janne ka haq nahi hai?"
"Mein bhool gayi it's not a big deal Haseena tumhari abbu ne hi recommend kiye hai." Karishma said and immediately regretted it because it seemed to irritate Haseena more than she already was.
"You know what!? Yehi aapka yehi cheez se humko sakth nafrat hai! Saara kuch mazaak nahi hota hai Karishma. You have a family now, you have a child now you get that right? This is serious Karishma stop joking around about this. Aur humare abbu ne aapke naam recommend kiya tha usse ye matlab nahi hota hai ki aap deserve nahi karti itna shauk jo hai aapko apne jaan ko khatre mein daalke hero giri karne ki." Haseena sighed in a given up state. Their argument had attracted quite the audience and Karishma knew Haseena hated that. She took a step closer and by muscle memory used her left hand and hissed when the pain hit her. Haseena was near her within seconds her lips trembling in concern, she felt helpless.
"Jyada dard ho raha hai na." She mumbled examining Karishma's bandage. Karishma just wanted to put Haseena in her pocket and protect her at all costs. She could see the kind of care and concern Haseena had for her and felt guilty for scaring her.
"Idhar baitho mere saat." Karishma pulled her towards the seats in the waiting area.
"Yahaan dekho." She lifted Haseena's face with her right hand making her face her, caressing her cheek with her thumb and then with the back of her hand she waited for Haseena to calm down a bit before speaking.
"Mein mazaak nahi karungi okay?" Haseena nodded, holding Karishma's hand in place, the warmth of her hand making her feel what could be only described as at home.
"Tumne uss dinn gaadi ko deke bina road mein gayi thi it was a near miss-"
"Karishma you don't get to use that as a trump card for getting away from this. Hum roz thodi car ke saamne kudh jaate hai?" She argued meekly. With her other hand she started playing with Karishma's left hand, fiddling with her fingers memorizing every wrinkle and indenture.
"Aur mein kahaan roz aise gun ke saamne kood rahi hoon? haan meri job dangerous ho sakti hai kayi baar I don't want to lie to you. Aaj chase down tha par mein kabhie jaan poochke apni jaan ko khatre mein nahi dalungi Haseena. Pehle ki baat alag thi mera koi nahi tha par ab mujhe tumhari aur kia ki khayaal rakhni hai, Kia ko bade hote dekhna hai I need to give her the life she deserves, toh mein sachmein bahoth careful rahungi. I don't want you to leave me because of my job." Haseena smiled finally and Karishma did too her thumb now lingering into Haseena's dimple.
