A couple of years ago..
Haseena reapplied her lipstick standing before the mirror and she glanced at the clock with an annoyed face. Her date was late. By One freaking hour. She was all decked up way earlier than necessary because she was a nervous mess. This meant a lot. She wanted this person to be her end game. When her girlfriend of three years dumped her it came as a punch in the gut. It came out of nowhere. Damn she thought she was the one but then she had been dumped. The fact that she was out of touch was an understatement and her first date in four years being late was not helping at all. She fidgeted with her watch when the doorbell rang. It must be Karishma. She thought to herself.
"Hey!" Karishma greeted her as if she wasn't an hour late. Haseena examined her quickly. She wore a black leather jacket over a printed shirt. Her jeans were torn in all the wrong places. Her hair was tied up in a neat ponytail and she wore no makeup except for the red lipstick that somehow completed her ensemble perfectly. She was hot Haseena decided.
"Hey Karishma." Haseena greeted her awkwardly not knowing whether to invite her in.
"I prefer Singh." She said with an expression that Haseena couldn't read. She was skeptical. How could Santosh set her up with a person like Karishma? Did she even know anything about Karishma? Her doubts on whether to invite her in dissolved when Karishma took a couple steps back. Haseena sighed in relief locking her home and following Karishma no Singh outside.
"Aapke car ko kahaan park kiya hai aapne?" Haseena enquired as she couldn't spot any cars nearby except of course her tiny electric car which she was too proud about.
"Umm mere bike." Karishma pointed at a powerful machine she called her bike. Haseena gapped.
"Humare dress ke saat bike pe kaise?" Haseena questioned sincerely. She wore a knee length tunic dress that hugged her body at all the right places. Her bangs were neatly laid out on her forehead. She had carefully chosen each accessory. Everything that a bike ride in the chilly winter night at god knows how many miles per hour speed could easily ruin.
"I don't know. Tum adjust kar sakti ho I guess? Mere helmet pehen lena I don't mind." Karishma answered nonchalantly. Haseena huffed. She wanted to walk back inside her home and end this disaster but it was Santosh's idea. And Karishma was Cheetah's best friend. She couldn't just abandon this date.
"Humare Car mein jaa sakte hai hum. Humko koi aitraaz nahi hai." Haseena pulled her car key from her purse unlocking her tiny ass car. Karishma snickered at the red car and Haseena throws a mean glare which immediately shuts her up.
As Karishma cramped inside the small car, Haseena expectantly looked at her.
"Aapne kis hotel mein reservation kiya hai?" Haseena asked the obvious question.
"Mujhe reservation karna tha? Meine socha tum karogi. Par hum kaheen bhi jaa sakte hai. Tumhari choice." Karishma shrugged like she couldn't care less. Her phone rang in the small car making Haseena squint her eyes at the noise.
"Utha lijiye." She sighed looking up.
"Tum bhagwan se baat kar rahi hai?" Karishma asked with an innocent expression.
"Aapke PHONE usko utha lijiye. Ya allah ye Santosh ne humko kahaan phasa diya hai."
Karishma ignored her mumbles and picked up her call and answered in a whisper.
"Hey. No I am free tonight. Of course. I'll be there soon. Aaj raat woh karenge jo uss dinn kar nahi paaye te. I'll call you back." Karishma flirted and Haseena gaped at her.
"Unbelievable." Haseena said exasperated.
"Kya?"
"Are you seeing someone already?" Haseena picked up her purse getting out of her car hastily. She had been disrespected enough for one night.
"Nahi uss dost ki tabiyat theek nahi hai toh usko dekhne jaana hai." Karishma lied with a poker face. If Haseena didn't want to punch her right now she'd appreciate how adorable Karishma looked with her long eyebrows and her sharp nose twitching. Seemed to be something that happened every time she lied.
"Look Singh aapko agar humare saat date mein nahi jaana hai toh aap ghar jaa sakti hai."
"Acha toh mein jau?" Karishma asked like the dumbest kid in the class. Haseena had had enough by then.
"Wow. Kya aapko nahi lagta ki we owe to our best friends. Ye Santosh aur Cheetah ka idea tha aur woh log chahte hai ki hum ye karein."
"Look Mallik tum mujhe pasand nahi karti hai toh why waste a Saturday night on faking small talk. Let's go home. I'll go to my sick friend and tend to her and you go do whatever it is you'd do on a Saturday night. Stitch or Bake?" Haseena glared at Karishma. She was unbelievable. She was the rudest most arrogant person she'd ever met. Haseena walked off to her home her heels clicking on the pavement.
"I cannot believe Santosh thought this was a good idea. Aap jaise insaan ke saat date ka chodiye baat tak karna munasib nahi samjhte." Haseena said walking back to her home with Karishma reluctantly following her.
"Oh please jaise mein marr rahi hoon tumhare saat date pe chalne ke liye. And what's a munasib." Karishma asked, getting on her bike.
"Just leave Singh." Haseena said closing her door with a thud. Karishma kicked her bike to life and it let out a thunderous roar. She was out of sight but never out of mind. So much for a date. Haseena dialled Santosh's number.
"Santu agar iss insaan se humein phir se milna pada toh hum tumhari boyfriend ka khoon kar denge hum bata rahe hai tumko."
..
Tell me how it was and I'll update sooner ;) also I passed my CA final G1 so I decided to publish this story after all. It won't be as long as Irresistible but let's see how long it turns out to be.
