(22) Festival

Okay I'm actually really nervous for this chapter because I want to do it right. I'm ether going to take really long while writing this chapter or write with ease, it really just depends on what I do.

Nastu pov

Today's the festival and I don't think I've ever been more nervous in my life. I have to make the perfect confession for Luce, but I also have to make sure I act right the whole time. I sigh in exhaustion on how this is going to go. We're all meeting there at five and fireworks start at eight, so that gives me 3 hours to get everything right. "Arg!! Why did levy put this on me!" I scream out loud. "What did levy put on you?" Gray questions with a smirk standing at my door way. "None of your business!" I shout. "You're the one who shouted it!" Gray shouts back. "I don't have time for this gray leave!" I say in a nervous panic. "Fine as you wish." He says slamming the door, hurting my ears. "Asshole." I mutter to myself.

How should I word it? Maybe like 'Luce I know I'm kind of just putting this onto you but, I really do like you. Maybe like is an understatement, I think I love you. Really you're just the only person I can see myself with.' No that's not good enough! Plus it sounds so awkward! Think nastu! Think!

Lucy pov

Festival day and I'm still worried about nastu. I sigh. "Nastu why can't you just tell me what's wrong." I mutter to myself a little sad. "Stop that Lucy! Everything is fine!" I tell myself slapping my face to make me change my mood. I try and forget what I was thinking of by going on my phone, but I end up just looking through me and natsu's messages. I keep giggling to myself which makes me look crazy, but can you blame me he says the stupidest things! "Lu?" Levy walks into my room. "I can hear you from the other side of the wall." She laughs and I just blush in embarrassment. "We still have awhile till the festival so, what'd you wanna do?" Levy asks me. "I don't know, I was just planning on sitting here until it was time." I say shrugging my shoulders. "That's boring lu! Lets go do something while we wait, maybe a little shopping?" Levy suggests. "Not right now lev, I have other things to worry about, like what's going on with natsu." I tell her. "Didn't he already say that everything was okay? Plus, didn't you need to get something anyways?" Levy asks me. "I guess. Fine we can go." I sigh.

We go to the shopping center for a few hours and when we get back it's time to get ready. Everyone is meeting there so me and levy are driving together this time. I'm still a little worried about natsu but he's probably just in a mood like usual. Me and levy help each other get ready and she keeps telling me the same thing, "Trust me Lu, natsus fine." She says this every time I mention natsu which is quite a bit. "Is everyone going to split up when we get there because you know like everyone is dating and mira and erza always split away from the group anyways?" I ask. "We're probably going to stay together for a bit but then end up splitting up." Levy says. "I wonder what does Mira and erza do every time we split up?" I question. "Apparently erza has some boy trouble and Mira try to help her." Levy tells me.

We finish getting ready and start to drive to the festival. A sense of nervousness starts to build up in me, making it feeling like my stomach is tied in a big knot that won't come out easily. "It's fine Lu, stop worrying. You can confess to natsu another time anyways." Levy says noticing my nervousness. "That's lev." I say with the knot in my stomach slowly starting to untie. We get to the festival and go to the spot everyone agreed to meet. My eyes atomically meet with natsu's making me a little nervous again. I shake off the nervousness and walk over to natsu. "Hey Luce." Natsu smiles at me. "Hey natsu." I smile back. I hear that his voice sounds normals now and give him a hug. "You seriously made me worried earlier by how you sounded in the phone." I tell him in a whisper. "Sorry." He says returning my hug. We all start walking around and levy starts teasing erza. "So what's are these boy problems about erza?" Levy asks. "Huh? What boy problems!?" Erza says embarrassed. "Some guy she ran into at the beach caught her eye." Mira says. "Mira!" Erza says while her face turns the same color as her hair. "She says it's a childhood friend." Mira adds on. "Mira!" Erza says a little more angry. "That's my sign to stop." Mira laughs. Erza now has her head down trying to make her face turn back to its normal color. I let out a little laugh but not loud enough for erza to hear. I look behind us to see gray and juvia already took off by themselves. "Does anyone know where gray and juvia went?" I ask. "No, but I'm guessing food." Erza says now back to normal. "Guess this means time to split up, see everyone at fireworks.!" Levy says taking gajeels arm and running off with him. Mira and erza follow after them and leave me and natsu alone.

"You hungry?" I ask him. "Yeah, you?" He asks back. "A little." I say. We start walking towards the food and I look around for juvia and gray so I can tell them when we're supposed to meet back up. "Something wrong?" Natsu asks. "No just looking for gray and juvia so they know when to meet back up." I tell natsu. "We could just text them." Natsu says. "Right, i forgot about that." I say. Natsu texts gray and he just responds with a thumbs up, which always pisses natsu off.

A while later

"We should start heading off to the fire works. " I tell natsu as I check the time on my phone. "Which way do you think is the quickest? " natsu asks me. "Probably around that way. " I say pointing my hand in a direction. We start walking that way and run into Mira and Erza on the way there. "You'll never believe it, Erza say the beach guy!" Mira tells us. "It's wasn't that big of a deal. " Erza says. "He remembered you and asked for your number! How is that not a big deal!!" Mira says more happily than Erza sounds. "Oo erza~" I say. "This doesn't mean anything!" Erza says embarrassed but still has a firm voice.  "Right, sorry totally my fault for taking it the wrong way." I say sarcastically.

We get to the hill where there's a swarm of people trying to find places to sit. Natsu sees a place from the distance and we set up there, everyone else was set up somewhere else but we were in a relatively close area. "The fireworks will be starting in the next 10 minutes, please stay find a place and stay seated when the show starts." We heard a voice say somewhere in the crowd. "Natsu have you ever seen a firework show?" I ask him. "Yeah of course I have. Have you not?" He asks. "I have but never with someone besides a family member so." I tell him. We chat for the next few minutes until we hear fireworks shooting into the air. "Natsu it's starting!" I tell him excitedly.

We watch the fireworks and as we start to reach the finale natsu starts talking, "Hey Luce, listen I don't know how exactly to word this but I really like you like a lot." "I mean you probably already knew that but honestly, I just want to be able to kiss you when I want hold your hand while walking cuddle together without having to worry about what others think." He says catching me off guard. "Luce what I'm trying to ask is, will you be my girlfriend?" The words that I've been waiting to hear from him finally come out of his mouth leaving me speechless. "Of course I do you idiot." I stupidly say but those were the only words I could think of. As the last firework goes off natsu kisses me, a feeling that I've been waiting for, as just remembering it isn't enough.

"You're so beautiful Luce." Natsu says breaking the kiss. I just give him a kiss on the cheek as I knew that everyone else was going to see us soon. We get up and start cleaning up our things. "You guys ready to go?" Levy ask as she finds where we were. "Yep, all ready." I smile, but mainly just because I'm happy about what natsu and I are now. Now when the girls every few weeks ask him out he can tell them he has a girlfriend instead of just telling them no, and he'll be talking about me. "What are you smiling about Lu?" Levy asks me teasingly. "Nothing." I say.

The night is over and I'm happier than ever, because natsu is my boyfriend.
