"On this perfect day, nothing's standing in my way. On this perfect day, when nothing can go wrong." - Perfect Day (Hoku)
"Thank you so much, it really is a pleasure," Rachel began excitedly, holding onto Violette's hand so tight she could almost break it. The two girls were practically bouncing in place after taking the "Vitamin D" that Mrs Schuester had given them.
"While the boys chose a selection of songs that cast an eye inward on the irresponsible life choices and sexual hunger of today's modern teens, we have chosen a selection of songs that speak to the nation as a whole during these troubling times filled with economic uncertainty and unbridled social woe," Rachel continues to rant at an incredible speed as Violette happily nodded along. The other glee girls behind them smiled excitedly in anticipation of their performance. Well, all of them except for Quinn who didn't take the "Vitamin D" and was glancing back annoyed by Rachel's ramblings, and also slightly glaring at the way that Rachel Berry was currently gripping onto Violette's hand. Violette had finally come back to school after her fight with Quinn and its Rachel Berry that she attached herself to? Quinn couldn't quite believe it.
"If there's two things America needs right, that is sunshine and optimism," Rachel finished her rant only slightly out of breath. "And also, angels," Violette added quickly with a smile, unaffected by the strange looks they were receiving from the boys. Even Miss Pillsbury and Mr Schue looked a little startled by the pair, although mostly by Rachel, as Miss Pillsbury presses her little timer signalling that Rachel and Violette should move into their places.
...
Violette could have admitted, to herself, that Rachel had been right. She was having so much fun, she felt like she was on cloud nine. Violette had a feeling that told her she could conquer the world, running through the halls with her yellow dress swishing out behind her,
"Lucy!" Violette yelled out, sprinting down the hallway towards Quinn, who glanced wearily around the halls to see who was paying attention. She noticed Violette was still running around, going crazy from the "Vitamin D" and wearing her yellow dress that she refused to change out of, despite the rest of the girls including Quinn having changed a long while ago. "Hi," Violette smiled, bouncing on the spot in front of Quinn, who frowned at the girl before quickly pulling her into an empty classroom nearby. She wasn't sure what was about to happen between the girls, but Quinn was pretty sure she didn't want the rest of McKinley to see it.
"Where the hell have you been?" Quinn questioned the hyper girl. Sure, they probably needed to discuss their last fight, but what Quinn currently wanted to talk about was the fact that after Glee that day, Violette had missed two periods and no one Quinn asked had seen her.
"I went for a walk. Well, it was faster than a walk it was more of a run, but like, a fast run. I found a bird!" Violette practically yelled, while Quinn moved quickly to cover her mouth with her hand. Violette, not even slightly discouraged by Quinn's attempts to silence her, decides to continue talking into Quinn's hand.
"What?" Quinn asks, removing her hand from Violette's mouth so the girl could speak clearly.
"I wanna show you the bird," Violette says excitedly, smile never faltering. It was clear to Quinn that Violette was basically high or drunk or something of that variety, off of whatever Mrs Schuester gave her and so now was probably not the time to bring up their argument, but Quinn also knew she couldn't leave Violette alone like this.
"No Letty, we're gonna stay here until you calm down before you get into trouble or get yourself hurt," Quinn tells the girl, also tired of her overbearing energy.
"No Lucy, just look at the bird-"
"-We're staying here, Letty-"
"-No look!" The girls argue back and forth before Violette finally wins the final word. She does so by rendering Quinn momentarily speechless when she pulls a small, living bird out of her pocket. Violette smiles at Quinn, bird held gently in her cupped hands as Quinn stares back with her jaw dropped.
