"So baby follow, follow, follow. Tell me where you want to go. Just keep your body close and don't let go." - Follow ((Frank Ocean) koda)"Violette!"
At the sound of her name being screamed across the halls of McKinley High, Violette froze in place, carefully turning around to find the culprit.
"Hi," Rachel huffed, stopping in her tracks as she finally reached her ex girlfriend who frowned in confusion, wondering what they even had to talk about these days.
"Um, hi Rachel. Can I help you with something?"
"You can actually," Rachel admitted, "I'm currently making my comeback and as much as I've looked to my many idols for inspiration, I've done some reflection and realised that I could get some help much closer to home. Your comeback to the Cheerios last year was talked about for months, and your comeback to Glee the other week was admittedly quite good and so if I am to make a comeback in McKinley, I thought you would be the best person to ask for assistance," she ranted in one breath as Violette watched on in slight astonishment.
"Look, Rachel, I'm happy for you, and if you're trying to come back from something, that's great, but just because I agreed with you about the song writing thing, doesn't mean we're suddenly best friends. I'm not super against helping you, but this is the first actual conversation we've had in months," Violette explained carefully, watching as Rachel seemed to actually take in her words.
"Right, I didn't really think about that," Rachel admittedly a little shyly, "Well then, we can start simple?" she offered as Violette tilted her head in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"I think I'm having a party this Saturday. I would like if you could attend,"
"Oh, yeah I can try and make it," Violette agreed with an awkward nod.
"Great,"
"Cool."
An awkward silence passed between the two as neither knew whether to continue the conversation or walk away. Eventually, Violette made the decision.
"I'll see you later then Rae," Violette said, shooting Rachel a quick smile before walking off. The nickname had slipped out, purely habit, but it had given Rachel hope. She didn't like Violette Donovan the same way she once had, but before they dated they had been best friends. Rachel had never had a best friend, and she wasn't sure she would again, but there was a small part of her that would always want Violette Donovan in her life.
Although the nickname itself had gone unnoticed by Violette, a certain blonde standing discretely nearby couldn't believe her ears. Just when Quinn thought she was far from her days worrying about Rachel Berry, she popped up again like a stubborn zit. Quinn had already lost Sam, and probably Finn, but she was not about to lose Violette Donovan if she had anything to say about it.
...
"Let's party!" Rachel called out just as Violette stumbled her way into the Berry's basement.
"Hey girl!" Violette greeted with a grin, giving a side hug to a shocked Rachel.
"Violette, uh, you made it," Rachel stammered out, feeling surprised to say the least, although less so when she noticed the strange way Violette was leaning against her, "Violette, are you drunk?" Rachel asked, trying not to sound outraged because that was now also Rachel's plan, but the goody two shoes in her couldn't help it.
"Duh, of course," Violette answered with a giggle, "I did pres with Jamie before she went clubbing,"
"Pres? Pre-what?" Rachel questioned in confusion.
