"Mystery of lack. Stabbing stars through my back. Forwards, beckon, rebound. Forwards, beckon, rebound." - forwards beckon rebound (Adrianne Lenker)

"Now," Mr Schue began to address the club, settling back into the choir room after Violette's big solo, "I received an envelope in the mail today. We know that we're facing Kurt and the Warblers at regionals and it looks like this year, we face Aural Intensity again,"

"They cleaned our clock last year," Mercedes commented.

"Seems like the governing board has assigned a theme to this year's regionals, and part of our score will be based upon how well we interpret it. This year's theme, anthem. Now, who can tell us what an anthem is?"

"It's the bottom of an ant's pants," Brittany quickly answered, as Violette nodded her head in agreement. Santana glanced back and forth between the pair with a concerned frown, matched by many members of the club.

"So close, so close. No," Mr Schue said before answering his own question, ignoring Rachel's raised hand in the back of the group "An anthem is an epic song filled with a groundswell of emotion that somehow seems bigger than itself, even bigger than the person performing it," Mr Schue explained passionately before Sam interrupted the lesson to introduce his new one-man band, "The Justin Bieber Experience". It was safe to say, Violette was not impressed, but neither were many of the Glee members to begin with.

"You've got to be kidding me," Quinn muttered in shock, before Puck spoke up to let Sam know that his new haircut made his mouth look even larger, but even he was cut off by Coach Sue telling him to "let her speak".

"Laugh all you want, but that kid's an epic talent, and there's a number I've been working on that I've been wanting to show off. I think it qualifies as an anthem because, it's just hugely emotional and sums up our generation," Sam announced, as the Glee Club continued to laugh at his new "band". However, Mr Schuester was willing to let him perform and the boy was quick to grab a guitar and begin an acoustic intro to 'Baby' by Justin Bieber while staring at Quinn, much to Violette's absolute horror.

As the music picked up however, and Sam abandoned the guitar in favour of terribly dancing, Violette watched with a slack jaw as the other girls seemed to be having the time of their lives. They were cheering and dancing as Violette frowned in confusion, along with many of the other boys, before that frown was quick to deepen when Violette spotted the growing smile on Quinn's face. Whilst the pair had not discussed what their kiss the other day had meant, or the one after that, Violette had been too wrapped up in her own life to even remember that last she checked, Quinn had a freaking boyfriend. To see said boyfriend singing a song to Quinn as other girls fangirled over him, was a sight that vaguely made Violette consider tearing her eyes out. What the hell was going on?

...

"Hey, there you are, I've been looking for you," Violette said as she hurried to take a seat next to Quinn at the next Glee Lesson. Quinn tried not to widen her eyes at the other girls words, because she may or may not have been avoiding her a little (or a lot, or completely). Quinn had some big decisions to make, and she wasn't sure how she was going to make them.

"Hey, Letty," Quinn greeted fondly as Violette smiled at her excitedly.

"Are you busy on Friday night?" Violette asked suddenly, oblivious to the way one Finn Hudson perked up from his spot on the other side of Quinn.

"I'm not sure, why?" Quinn asked, trying to act nonchalant.

"They've got this outdoor cinema that just opened a few towns over, and they're showing that new Emma Stone movie. I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go with me? It'd probably give us a good chance to talk about some-" Violette paused, glancing around at the busy room before choosing her words carefully, "-some stuff,"
