cloaked bond

I know you
I know who you are
I know stories about you
From near and from far
We're supposed to be familiar, close even, family if you want to take it that far
But all I feel is space between, not being in the loop, in fact I feel there's so many empty slots in this story
That would make us seem like strangers if you look close enough,
push you back so you can see the bigger picture

We've lived in different time zones
Separated by time, coincidence and fate
Brought together by time, blood, and acceptance
And when I look at it
I realize how different we are

You have memories of a time when I didn't exist
I have memories of people you knew by name, not by heart..I'm the middle man in the story of you being the hero , the Villan not being too far off.
And even though we're supposed to be close
I can't help but see you so far away
Push you back so you can see the bigger picture
Strangers if you look close enough
Distanced by time, chaos and different lives lived
Even though I know you
I know who you are
You know me
But it still feels like we are too far.
