Author's POV

Shubman slumped down in the chair just beside him. He was numb. He didn't knew what to do.

He wanted to scream, but he composed himself and got up.

He knew his Ananya was not dead. But the circumstances said something else.

If she didn't survived, then she must be.....

He walked towards the people who unfortunately died in the accident. Relative were crying there for the lost of their loved ones.

He slowly walked passing everyone, in hope that he will see her laying on some bed, lifeless.

He walked near the waiting area where no one was.

He looked in hopes that he will find her there, but no. She was not there.

Finally he slowly walked towards a staff member who was holding a list of dead people.

He approached to him slowly.

"Excuse me." Shubman addressed him.

That staff member looked up. "What is it sir?" He asked.

"C-can you please check a name for me? A-Ananya Sharma." Shubman voice broke.

Staff member nodded slowly and started looking for that particular name.

Shubman noticed staff member's expressions changed. He looked at Shubman and gulped.

"Um.. sir... I am sorry. I think there is a woman named Ananya Sharma." Staff member said slowly.

Shubman's heart broken. For the last time. He ran towards the waiting area which was empty. He didn't even stopped after Ishan called after him.

He ran and collapsed on one of the chair. He had lost her. Forever. He remembered how they fought. He regreted that their last memory together was a bitter one.

But a particular memory started to flood in his mind.

Flashback

Shubman and Ananya were now like best friends. They spent their whole time either meeting eachother or talking on phone.

It was a hot day in summer when they decided to meet in a cafe.

He was sitting their waiting for her. Poor he had to wear a hoodie even in the hottest day.

He was druming his hand on the table when he saw a delightful sight.

Ananya walked inside wearing a beautiful dress. It reached to till her knees. That white dress had beautiful red flowers on it. In place of sleeves, a small knot was tied. She looked breathtaking. Her black hair flowing on her back.

Her lips were curled into a beautiful smile. She looked just like an angel.

Shubman stood up awkwardly as she came near the table.

"Hi!" He breathed out. "Hi!" She chuckled, her laugh sounding so sweet to his ears.

"What are you looking at?" She asked laughing a bit.

"Um... Oh nothing!" He said immediately.

She settled herself and gestured him too who was still standing and gaping at her.

"Yeah!" He let out and awkward laughter sat down quickly beside her.

"So?" Ananya asked. "What?" Shubman asked back.

"You said you wanted to meet!" Ananya said with confusion.

"Oh yeah! Its just like that!" He said and rested his chin in his palms.

"Why are you looking at me like that, since I have arrived?" Ananya asked, a little smile on her lips.

"Because you are looking beautiful!" Shubman said as a matter of fact.

Ananya blushed slightly and looked at him again. "But I am sorry! You had to wear this hoodie on this hot day!" She said feeling guilty.

"Wait! Why are you apologizing? It not your fault sun is spreading his 'love' today so much!" Shubman laughed.

"No! Not like that... I mean.... You are looking good btw. But like you more without it!" Ananya blurred and laughed.

"So you admit you like me shirtless?" Shubman smirked at her leaning onto his chair.

Ananya felt heat rushing to her cheeks. Ahe looked at him wide eyed and mentally facepalmed herself.

"No.. I don't mean that..." She trailed.

"So you don't like me?"

"I mean I do..."

"So you like me shirtless?"

"Hey!" She exclaimed. Shubman laughed loudly at her expressions.
Ananya too joined him laughing at her own embarrassment.

Soo they were laughing mess, ignoring the weird looked everyone gave them.

Shubman stopped laughing and looked at Ananya who was still laughing unable to control.

He smiled to himself while looking at her. She looked so beautiful while laughing do freely.

He felt the world around him fading and that was the day, The Prince of Cricket, Shubman Gill realized that he had fell in love with Ananya Sharma.

End of flashback

Shubman finally let tears flow from his eyes. He cried and cried. His throat was hurting. But he didn't stop. Sobs left from his mouth.

He didn't knew how long he cried. Finally his sobs stopped but not the tears. He was able to feel the breaking of his heart.

He slowly pulled out his wallet and opened it. He glanced at the photo he had kept in it. Away from everyone's eyes.

It was smiling photo of Ananya.

He felt his eyes filling with tears again.

"Where are you?" He whispered. "I am missing you. You can't leave me like that! Why? Why did you left me? If you loved Nikhil that much, you could said that to me. Not like I would have appreciated it much, but I would have let you go! Because that's what love is right? To let the person go for their happiness. There was no need to leave me... Alone!" He sobbed.

He was feeling like dying. His head was dizzy. He looked at his surrounding. No one was there accept the person behind him.

He sobbed again, a bit loudly this time.

"Come back to me Ananya. I am sorry, I am sorry Love. Please come back to me. I can't live without you!" He said in between his sobs.

The person behind him slowly walked towards him from behind and kept their hand on Shubman's shoulder.

Shubman turned back to look at that person, and only to get that biggest shock of his life.
