Matt opened his mouth to answer, but barely a squeak came out. He wasn't sure if what he had just witnessed was real or fake, or what was even going on. All he knew was that he felt faint. What had just happened?
Eddy stepped closer to him, offering his hand, "Let me help you up."
He could tell Matt was in shock. Eddy couldn't blame him though, it was a scary situation. Especially since Matt wasn't used to being mugged, if Eddy could even call it that."W... what...?" Matt asked in a shaky voice, moving his hand to rub his eyes. Oh god, Eddy was covered in blood...
"Let me help you up," Eddy repeated gently, "And get you home, before someone else tries to mug us."
Eddy made sure to speak slowly as to not overwhelm him too much.Matt carefully took Eddy's hand, though he wasn't sure if he could trust him or not.
"W...what just happened?" he stuttered as he got to his feet.
"Someone put a knife to my throat," Eddy gently pulled him up, he would ignore the distrust he saw. Or well the uncertainty."Well yeah, but...?" Matt asked, blinking a few times. He felt dizzy, and like he might puke. Was he gonna puke?
"I disarmed them, broke their nose and got them to the ground. I let them run off," Eddy supposed that was more what Matt wanted to know. He let go of Matt's hand though to put on his back, "You don't seem too okay, do you need a moment by the bushes?"Matt was gonna answer, but retched before he could answer. He covered his mouth with his hand and closed his eyes. Everything was a bit too much right then.
Eddy carefully guided him to the bushes, just being able to manhandle, "It's gonna be okay, puke your guts out if you have to."
He rubbed his back.Matt puked, feeling like his stomach was turning inside out. It didn't help him get any clarity of what had just happened, but it forced his stomach to settle as it eventually was empty. Once he felt sure nothing more was coming up, he straightened up and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. His gaze was distant as he tried to make sense of everything.
Eddy just pet his back gently, he didn't know what this meant for their friendship but he imagined it didn't mean anything good. All he could do was get Matt home and give him space to process everything. Eddy could be happy that he was able to protect him though."Y...You...? You just took them down...?" Matt asked a bit meekly. "What the hell?"
"I did," Eddy hummed softly, "I have told you I was part of a special infantry unit of the military. I know how to defend myself and others."
It wasn't fluffy bunnies and rainbows, Eddy had killed people. He couldn't exactly forget that. Nor could he fully forget the skillset when he was on the run it felt like."No I know I just... oh my god..." Matt said, blinking a few times. He wasn't comprehending it. It was, thinking back on it, equal parts hot and scary. Or maybe a bit more scary.
"You're in shock Matt," Eddy said gently, "It's okay, it's a scary situation that you're not used to.""You are so calm," Matt stated. It felt almost unnatural to him how calm Eddy was. He supposed it related to his training, but still.
Eddy hummed softly, he supposed it was weird considering he was quite anxious and skittish. Especially when visiting Matt and being on his own, "Yes,I'm kind of high off the adrenaline. It outweighs my anxiety I guess."
Really he just had a little switch in his brain. One that could be triggered which put him in a fighting state. Or well maybe killing. He had been through the reprogramming room enough times.... The trigger was still there, he could be a lethal weapon. That would probably be more scary to Matt though, that he simply was a weapon ready to be activated."Are you okay, though? There's some blood..." Matt pointed out softly. "Is... is it yours?"
"No it's not mine," Not that Eddy was fully certain, "I think it's from breaking the person's nose."
He would check when he got home, maybe ask Brett to look."Oh, that's good, at least," Matt said softly, not really sure what now. "Maybe we should... like... call the police? Or something?"
"I think it should be fine, probably. Maybe just get you home. I mean unless you'd want some officers to escort you home," Eddy suggested softly, "So you can get some rest."
Eddy was a bit suspicious of the 'mugger' if he were honest so didn't want to just walk home. He'd probably circle the block a few times to make sure he wasn't followed."Oh, no, if you think it's fine... you probably know best," Matt said softly, running a shaky hand through his hair. He didn't particularly want to be alone, though, he had to admit.
Eddy would stay with him if he asked, "Do you want to keep walking or maybe I should call Brett to see if he could pick us up?"
Although Brett wasn't feeling well so maybe he shouldn't ask him."I uh... I don't know," Matt admitted, wrapping his arms around himself a bit. "What do you think?"
"Let's sit down for a second, and I'll message Brett," Eddy said softly. Sitting duck wasn't great when Eddy was weary about them being in danger but it didn't seem like Matt was in any mental space to get a move on, "You're pretty shaken up, maybe you want to stay the night?""Oh, if that's okay... I don't wanna intrude... I'll probably be fine on my own," Matt said unsurely, eyes shifting to try and see in the relative darkness.
"You're not intruding, I promise," Eddy pulled out his phone and texted Brett, hoping for his man to please come 'save' him."If you're sure," Matt said a bit quietly.
It took a minute before Brett saw the message, but it was a lucky timing anyway. He had been scrolling on his laptop, watching some tv-series and just having a chill day trying not to think too much. He didn't particularly like being alone. Once he did see the message, though, he worried.
"Of course, where are you?" he texted back, getting himself out of bed.
