It got very quiet as Brett turned the ignition key to the off position, with the only sound being the engine cooling fan slowing down. Brett kept his ears sharp, listening for the smallest bit of movement outside for a moment, ready to start up again at a moment's notice if he needed. It did seem like it was quiet now, though.
"Let's put the cover on the car tonight, just to be less visible," Brett said softly to Eddy.

In the back seat, Matt was quiet. The adrenaline had worn off after a while, and he was in this moment nothing but frozen and resigned to whatever was happening to him. A familiar feeling to him.

"I agree, I don't want anyone finding us just because they spot the car," Eddy unbuckled himself, he felt pretty grim about this matter. Maybe they'd have to leave London. It would probably be safer for Belle and Matt alike. Or maybe he could just lay down and die. Make it easy for everyone. That way Brett wouldn't have to be on the run and the others would be safe.

"How about I do that, and you bring Matt inside?" Brett offered gently. "He seems... well, you know."

He glanced back at Matt in the mirror, who just sat there quietly with his arms tightly wrapped around himself.

"Yeah of course," Anything to save him from his own grim thoughts. Eddy looked back at Matt, "Let's get you inside, bud."
He stepped out of the car and walked to Matt's car door, opening it on up.

Matt just nodded, carefully unbuckling stepping out. He avoided eye contact. His arms quickly found their way back to hold himself.

Eddy put a hand on his shoulder, carefully leading him to the townhouse and up the few steps to the door, "It doesn't seem Belle is home yet."
He said softly to himself as he fished out keys to unlock the door, "You're pretty shaken up Matt. Do you want to take a warm shower or just tea and a blanket?"
He tried to be caring even though his dark thoughts couldn't be escaped.

"Uh... t...tea. Please," Matt said softly, just following him inside without saying anything else.

"Of course. Sorry that the night turned out like this," Eddy slipped his shoes off, waiting for Matt to do the same before he guided him to the couch. He might as well let him sit comfortably.

"It's not your fault," Matt said quietly. "I think."
He honestly wasn't sure anymore. Why were they in a car chase? And how had Eddy just randomly fought off a mugger? Sure, he used his military explanation, but... it just felt too surreal.

Eddy hummed, he'd like to think it wasn't his fault but it was easy to believe it was, "I guess the answer is complicated but I don't really think it's my fault."
How could he explain that some sick fuck was after him. Wanted to kill him and do worse things....like sodomize him before his death, "You should sit down."

Matt carefully sat down, but jumped a bit when the door opened.

"There, car all covered," Brett said gently, closing and locking the door behind them.

"Nice," Eddy looked at Brett with a small smile, "Bretty would you join me in the kitchen?"
He asked because he kind of wanted to talk to his man privately. Or well as privately as they could with a guest.

Brett raised an eyebrow, but shrugged.
"Sure, my love," he hummed, heading out to the kitchen with his man.

Matt just kind of sat there, not knowing what to do with himself.

Eddy grabbed the electric kettle to fill it with water as he gnawed at his bottom lip, looking for the words to say. He wasn't sure how to phrase it in a way where Brett wouldn't get upset with him. He quickly realized though that no matter what the topic would be upsetting and he'd just have to spit it out.

"Are you feeling okay, my love? Do you need a moment?" Brett asked softly, carefully placing a hand on Eddy's back and stroking gently. He could tell that Eddy's whole vibe was off. "Or a hug?"

"It's not that I feel bad, it's just that I know that you probably won't like what I'm thinking," Eddy stilled for a second, just staring at the kettle he held. He kind of glanced towards Brett but his eyes fell to the kettle again. He couldn't bring himself to look at the man, "...Maybe you should just....kill me. It would end all of this, if I was dead."

"What...? What makes you say that?" Brett asked, feeling like his heart was squeezed. "My love, you know I could never, but why do you think that?"

"Because they're after me, they want me dead. And just being here with you and Belle put you both at risk. Heck even Matt got caught up in it because I'm dangerous to be around," Eddy tried not to sound frustrated, but he was a bit frustrated, "I can't ask you to keep running with me forever. It might be better if I'm dead."

Brett carefully took the kettle from Eddy and put it down before taking Eddy's face between his hands to make him look at him.
"Eddy mine, listen to me now, okay?" he said, gently but with a stern edge to the tone. "I would run to the end of the world for you, okay? I love you. There is nothing I would not give up to be with you."

Eddy bit his bottom lip as he was made to look at Brett, he couldn't avoid his gaze. He sniffled a little as his eyes welled up. It didn't sound much like a life worth living but if Brett wanted to do that then it was his choice. A choice that Eddy wouldn't take from him, "Okay Bretty."

"Shhh don't cry, don't cry," Brett said softly, carefully trying to wipe his tears with his thumb. "I know this is scary, I know. I love you, and we'll handle it together."

"But what if we can't? What if someone gets hurt because of me," Eddy released his bottom lip from his teeth, although it wobbled a bit.

"It wouldn't be because of you, Eddy, it would be because of them," Brett said softly, stroking his cheek with his thumb. "But we will work to not let that happen. Matt is safe, and you are safe. That is the important thing right now. I know it was scary, I know, but you are safe now. I won't let anything happen."

Eddy pressed his face into the touch. It was scary and now everything was setting in after the fact. He knew it was because he felt safe in Belle's house, so suddenly his guard was completely down. Which was dangerous, not only because someone could attack but because it let him feel all the unwanted feelings, "I'm sorry Brett."

"You have nothing to apologize for," Brett assured again, tiptoeing up to place a gentle kiss to his lips. "I love you."

"I love you too," Eddy said softly, closing the distance again to kiss his man. He couldn't shake the feeling that it would be better if he were dead but Brett wanted him. So he didn't want to take it into his own hands. He'd stay with Brett.

Brett held the kiss for a moment, still with Eddy's face held safely between his hands. His poor man. He wished so badly he could take all the bad feelings away.

Eddy broke the kiss with a soft sniffle, "We should put tea on. For Matt."

"We should," Brett agreed, stroking his cheek a bit. "And for you, I think. I'll make tea, and you go sit with Matt, okay?"

"Okay," Eddy said softly, although he admittedly felt pretty pathetic being so emotionally distressed. He stepped away from Brett, wiping his own face, "I'll go sit with him."
Eddy slipped out of the kitchen and approached the couch.

He tried not to really look at Matt, because then the man would see his emotional distress too, "Brett's putting the tea on."

Matt nodded a bit. He thought Eddy sounded upset, which he understood. He felt upset too, but definitely a different kind of upset than the kind Eddy sounded like he was."Okay, Eddy. Thank you," he said softly.
