The Star
The woman sighed in relief as she pressed the still damp cloth to her face. Her emotions had gone haywire and the cold sting snapped them back into place.
Play the part.
She scurried away from washroom door, not wanting the man inside to see her like this. There was something about his stare.
It was like he was peering into her soul. Almost as if he could see all the darkness within. That scared her.
She would loose everything, if that were the case.
The life she made for herself, all the hard work, throw out the door. Pain and suffering all for nothing.
Play the part.
He didn't know. There was no way he could have. All she had to do, was act normal.
Being around the radio host scrambled her mind. She felt so comfortable around him, even though he was just a stranger. She felt safe and sheltered.
The star also felt small, uneasy. All her anxieties and fears rushing to the surface. The mixed emotions driving her wild.
She always admired the host. His broadcast would always be playing through her radio. His phrase becoming one she quickly adapted to.
You're never fully dressed without a smile.
Tucking the red cloth into her bag, the star shook her head. Clearing her mind she rounded the corner of the short hall. She had been standing there for a hot minute, and was a bit surprised the host had yet to leave the washroom.
She greeted her fans with the same soft smile as before. Apologies were thrown around. Some from her, for losing her composure. Others from her fans, for causing the sweet belle discomfort.
After a few more moments of goodbyes, hugs, and autographs, the star was able to slip out the diner doors. Unaware of sister gaze from the radio host.
While she walked down the dark street, she couldn't help but think of the brown eyed man.
She wanted to hide from his stare. She wanted to run from him. Yet, she also wanted to stay.
There was an odd aura around him. One that Wisteria found fascinating.
He was hiding something. She wasn't quite sure what, but she knew.
After all, she knew all the things to look for.
Small twitches in his smile, a dark look in his eyes. Unknown emotions brewing behind them, but getting pushed away before they can be recognized.
All the things that she finds in herself.
Wisteria wasn't surprised about his behavior after some thought. Of course he'd know there's a darkness in her.
There's something dark within him as well.
She desperately wanted to know what it was.
She just wasn't sure how she was going to figure it out. But, she knew it had to be before he uncovered her secrets.
Wisteria didn't dwell on that any longer. She had other matters to deal with at this time.
Frowning, she sighed. It was such a shame she was going to ruin her favorite dress.
