Wisteria
The moth sat on her hoop among the dark stage. She was suspended at least 20 feet in the air. It was much higher than what she was used to, but she was more comfortable than ever. Her signature soft smile was a more wide, and genuine, grin.
Wisteria gave a small nod to the cannibal at the far edge of the stage, signaling him to open the curtain. The noisy buzz of the cannibal crowd died down to deafening silence.
The star had her back to the crowd, her hands gently holding onto the sides of her hoop. Her legs swayed ever so slightly as the music started.
"Wise men say
Only fools rush in"Letting go of the metal hoop, she fell backwards. The crowed let out collective gasp. Her feet caught the top of the hoop, holding her in place as she hung upside down, eyes scanning the crowd.
Both the cannibals and Hazbin staff were in absolute awe. No one expected the star to be singing while she danced.
"But I can't help falling in love with you"
Wisteria bent her legs, dropping further as she hung from her knees.
"Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you?"Swinging her body upwards, she pulled herself back into a sitting position. Once she was sat upright, she shifted her weight to one side, making the hoop spin as she slid off, holding her weight with the one hand that gripped onto the hoops side.
She mimicked walking on air as the hoop spun in slow circles.
"Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be"Wisteria met Alstors gaze for a moment. She took note of the enchanted look on his face, the amazement in his eyes. Light pink dusted her cheeks as she performed.
"Take my hand,
Take my whole life, too
For I can't help falling in love with you"She pulled herself into a sitting position again, but this time she had her back against the side of the ring. She posed for a moment, then fell to the side. Her leg hooked around the metal as her hand snaked up the side. Her back was now pressed against the outside curve of the ring.
"Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be"Not a sound emitted from the crowd as they watched the star. She looked so at peace in the air. Her body moved smoothly and fluidly, she was captivating, especially to the stag who hadn't been able to take his eyes off her.
"Take my hand,
Take my whole life, too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you"As she sang the final lines, the moth hung upside down. Then, she let herself fall. The audience watched breathlessly as she flipped in the air. Her wings spread and fluttered meer moments before she hit the stage floor. Hovering in the air, her yellow body suit sparkled in the staged lights as she posed.
Cheers and whistles erupted from the crowd. The star shined brightly upon the stage, enchanting everyone amongst the audience. Even the grouchy old cannibal, Susan, was enamored.
The curtain fell and Wisteria headed back stage. Her muscles ached from the performance, and she herself was breathless. Beads of sweat threatened to drip down her face.
