(Jacqueline's P.O.V.)
"Kenzie, we'll catch up with you in a minute, go tell the lady we have a reservation!" I screamed as she walked further ahead of Harry and I. Today was the day, I was giving shocking news to my best friend. I don't think any one would have saw this coming. My stomach was a queasy wreck, and my brain was scattered everywhere.
"Harry, I don't know. How do we tell her?" I asked.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine."
He gripped my hand and led me inside the good smelling building. My stomach did flips as I spotted Kenzie at the table waiting for us. I took in a few deep breaths, and the waitress led us to our table.
"Would you like something to drink?" The waitress asked Harry.
"Water, thanks."
"And for you ma'am?"
I made eye contact with her, and requested a water, as did Kenzie. She nodded, and left to get our drinks. Kenzie put down her phone, giving her attention to Harry and I.
"So you have something to tell me?" She asked, whilst digging through her clutch. A clear shiny lip gloss was pulled out, she examined it and stared at us, while applying it. I could tell she honestly didn't want to be here, but would instead like to be in her bed, being depressing. No way, would I allow that.
"Could you at least pretend like you care a little more about being here?" I questioned, taking her lipgloss, clutch and phone, so we had all of her attention. She gave us a sassy sigh, and raised her eye brows at us.
"Yay! I'm so excited to be here! I just lost my boyfriend and I love being out here seeing cute couples! Aw! No I wouldn't at all rather be laying in bed with my cat!" She screamed in a sarcastic voice, rolling her eyes.
"Kenzie, we can't help you if you push everyone out of your life, and ignore them. You're acting like you don't need our help, but you do. Have you seen yourself? You're a wreck. Just let someone be there for you, for once." Harry tried talking sense into her. It only made her cry, because she knew it was the truth.
"Fine." She whispered.
"3 waters?" The waitress appeared again. Harry nodded. As soon as she walked away, Harry and I got to the point.
"We'd like to tell you something." I took Kenzie's hand in mine, sending a reassuring squeeze.
"Break it to me."
"Okay, well, I've found out, that I am pregnant." I said it as fast as possible. Kenzie cleared her throat and stood up, straightening her dress.
"Please, excuse me for a moment. Jacqueline, don't follow me."
With that, she walked away.
"Harry! I told you it was too early for her to know!" I said, frustrated.
"No, she just needs some time. Let her be." Harry ran a hand through my hair.
A couple minutes later, she appeared back at our table.
"Congratulations." She sat, smiling.
I was so relieved, the knots in my stomach disappeared.
The rest of the night was glamorous, and maybe, just maybe, we had brought Kenzie out of her funk.
