Chapter 9: Race Wars Fight

The Next Day

With John and Dom's Crew

John was in the driver's seat, and Dom had gotten in the passenger seat.

Letty asks "You ready for this, Jumpy?"

John started the car and everyone laughs at the revving engine and Jesse fake petting the hood of the car.

Then John drives out of the garage fast as he drifts to the left.

Later

They eventually got on the interstate.

Once John had stopped the car next to a Ferrari, John asks "Nice car. What's the retail on one of those?"

The man looks at him and Dom and says "More than you can afford, pal. Ferrari." then begins to rev his car. Dom looks at John and says "Smoke him, Detective." I

John smiles at that as both driver's were revving their cars.

The light turned green and John switched gears into first as he took off down the street.

John was watching the road then looking over to see where the man was.

John then saw two trucks blocking their path, and Dom grabbed the windshield frame and John drove around the trucks on the wrong side of the road.

Passing cars on the wrong side of the road, then gets back on the right side of the road, as John steps on the accelerator getting further down the road, than the Man.

Dom had to adjust himself in his seat, then looks at John, then back at the road.

Eventually they got to a restaurant, and slowed down as they parked in a spot.

They got out of their car and walked in and got food.

Later

Dom had saw John's face and asks "So, what's wrong, Brian?"

John immediately said, "Nothing, man. I'm fine."

Dom takes off his glasses and says "Come on. Obviously, something's off."

John sighs and says "All right, look. I'm gonna lose my job if I don't find out who is stealing these semi-trucks, and I'm just stressed."

Dom asks "Do you even like your job as a Detective, O'Conner?"

John said, "I do. I have an amazing partner, a family that accepts me with my flaws. Especially after I lost my fiancee. Moving on has been hard. And my partner has been there for me every step of the way. Recently, we went to Mexico, to find Tito Flores."

Dom says "I've heard of him. A guy that was a drug lord, right? He was also found dead."

John nods and says "Yeah, but in the trunk of a cop car. Mine and my partner's cop car. Son of a bitch was responsible for Liz's death. But, Rog has stuck with me the entire time. And now, it feels like I'm losing everything that I've gained."

Dom asks "What do you call Mia, me, and the crew then?"

John said, "I still view you guys as family as well. But, I don't want to lose Rog. He's been an amazing, partner. I don't think I can just... leave him behind. He's turned into my best friend. He even gave me a nickname."

Dom nods and says "Look, I understand that. Here."

Dom reaches in his pocket and pulls out a paper and slides it to John on the table.

John picks up the paper and asks "Well, what is this?"

Dom said, "Read it." as he dips a shrimp in sauce.

John saw it was directions to somewhere and asked, "What is this for?"

Dom says "It's directions..." he eats his shrimps and continues to say "...to Race Wars. We'll see how you do...." Dom finishes his shrimp and finishes saying "...then I'll see what I can do to help you, Brian,"

Later

At Race Wars

John was waiting in line to pull into Race Wars

John pulled up in his car and says "How's it going, bro?"

A security guard says "What's up, man? Welcome to Race Wars.

John says "Great. Thanks a lot." as he was given a paper.

John pulled in and parked his car as he saw people racing and people getting numbers on their windows for racing

John parked his car and walked to a trailer

He saw Jesse walk out and Jesse says "Woah. Hey. Bri, what's up?" and they did a bro handshake.

John says "Hey, what's up. Jesse? What do you have in your hand?" as he noticed something in Jesse's hand.

Jesse says "Throwing down the pink slip, just like you."

John asked, "The Pink slip to what? The Jetta?"

Jesse said "Yeah."

John says "You can't bet your dad's car"

Jesse still walking says "It's all right. I ain't losing This fool is running a Honda 2000. I'll win. That way me and my dad can roll together when he gets out of prison. It's all good."

John said, "Well, they're gonna throw him right back in prison after he kills you."

Jesse then saw his car and says "Oh, shit. I'm up."

John walked over and saw Leon had driven Jesse's car up and Leon said, "Hey, visualize the win, Jesse. I'm serious. You gotta listen to me, man"

John asked, "Who are you racing?"

John then saw the windows roll down and it was Johnny Tran.

John bent down to talk to Jesse through the window and says "Jesse, don't do it. I bet you he's got more than a $100,000 under the hood of that car."

Jesse nods and says "Uh-huh."

Both drivers rev their cars.

John says "Jesse, please. Don't."

The waver raises his hands as he moves is hands in a circle.

Jesse says "I got this, Bri. Believe in me."

John said, "It's not that I don't believe in you. It's that I know he has something up his sleeve. Please, listen to me."

Jesse gets ready to switch gears, then the waver swiftly brings his arms down as he bends down himself. and the cars take off drag racing.

After a minute John saw Jesse lose and drive on the air field.

John brushes his hair back with his hand as he doesn't know what to do.

John saw Tran drive over to Dom and saw a big fight as a crowd was cheering.

John tried to get over there but a guard was keeping him back.

Dom was pulled back and yelled, "I never narced on nobody! I never narced on nobody!"

John then twists the guards wrist as he screams and runs over to Dom.

Dom looks at John as he was holding Dom back as well.

Dom calmed down as the group left.
