Chapter 10: Saving the Crew

Later

At Night

John went to the trailer to check on Mia.

He knocked and said, "Mia!"

He walks in and says "Mia."

Then John was to the front again once he noticed she wasn't in there and he noticed her voice and looks out the window as he hears her say "I have respected you and I haven't said shit. And now I'm asking you not to go."

John then sees Dom as he says "Mia, I'm doing this for both of us."

Mia said, "No, don't give me that crap. You're doing this for you. Why are you insisting on doing this? Dom, please, just don't."

Then the crew gets into their cars as they drive off.

John runs out of the trailer, and caught up with Mia and says "Mia, what's going on?"

She asked, "What?"

John said, "You know what I'm talking about."

Mia says "No, I don't, Brian."

John then points out by saying "Oh, so what? You always have tears in your eyes when Dom drives away?"

Mia asks "What is the matter with you?"

John says "Come on. What's your brother racing off in the middle of the night for? I'm talking about the trucks. You know about the trucks?"

Mia shouts "No, Brian! What trucks? Jesus Christ."

John stops her and she asks "What?"

John said, "Listen to me. I already told Dom this, but... Mia, I'm a cop."

Mia asked, "What are you talking about, Brian? What is this?"

John says "Ever since the first time I met you, I've been undercover. I'm a homicide detective. And I told Dom, but he said he wouldn't tell anyone. Now... I need to know where he's going. I can't let him get himself hurt. I've grown to close too you all."

Mia says "What? You bastard."

John had tears in his eyes and says "Mia, please. Everything I told you about how I felt about you is true. I swear to God. But, please... I need to know where Dom and the others are off to. If he's going after those trucks, they are arming themselves now. We need to make sure nothing happens to them. Please, Mia."

Mia asks "Dom knows about this?"

John nods and says "He does. He didn't say cause he saw how we looked at each other."

Mia said, "Let's go then." as she walks to his car.

John smiles and walks after her.

Later on the Road

John was driving on the road and Mia says "Civics are stashed somewhere outside of Thermal."

John shakes his head and says "And they wouldn't double back. And Highway 10 is just way too well patrolled. So, what does that leave us with then?"

Mia looked at the map she had in her hands and said, "That leaves us with all this." pointing to the rest of the map without the locations he mentioned.

John looks forward, sighs as he takes out his phone, and calls Nextel.

A woman over the phone says "Nextel."

John said, "Yeah, this is Detective Johnathon Waters known as Detective Riggs. Serial number 34762. I need a cell phone trace."

The woman over the phone said, "Okay. What's the cell number?"
