Chapter 3: The Race and the Aftermath

Somewhere Before the Race

A lot of the cars had blocked off the streets as they set up the race.

John, Dom, Edwin, and another guy were driving up to the spray paint line as the finish line.

John saw Vince look at him as he passed him in his car.

Everyone stopped an inch at the line, except John who accidently drove past it a little bit.

Everyone motioned for him to drive back to the line.

John then drove back to line up to the other guys, and he looks at the other as everyone revs their cars.

John then hears Dominic play music from his speakers.

John saw a gut walk up to Edwin's car but decides not to focus on it, as he looks forward as he revs his car.

John says to himself "You're gonna win. I'm gonna win."

John then turned the knob of the NOS bottles in his backseat.

He hears hissing as he turns both of them.

John then flicked to switches and hit is button to bring out his monitor from his cd player.

John opens his laptop as he brings up his diagnostics.

John then revs his engine again.

As he waits for the race to start.

John then saw Hector bring his hands up, and the racers begin to rev their engines.

Hector swiftly brings his arms down and yells "Go!"

Then everyone shifts into first gear as they take off from the finish line.

John then straightened out his car as he switches to second gear, as he was in last place.

John then hits a button on his laptop and it said 'Stage 1 Complete'.

John then hits the NOS 1 bottle as he begins to go faster than he was.

John then passed Edwin, and the other guy.

Then John's computer was beeping and it brought up a warning 'Warning: Danger to Manifold'.

John yells "Shut up!" as he closes his laptop and hits the second NOS button.

Then John heard something like shots and then he saw his floor board on his passenger side fall as it scraps the ground.

John grunts as he moves his body towards his window.

Then John lost his floor board on his passenger side.

John smiled as he passed Dom, going faster than his top speed at a 140 miles per hour.

John then saw Dom speed ahead of him, and thought he must be using NOS.

John's car then spins out of control and he was breathing heavily as smoke came from his hood.

A little bit Later

John drove over and stops near the group and gets out of his car.

John was smiling has he looked around.

Jesse walks over and asks "Was that fun?" as he opens the hood as more smoke comes out.

Then everyone around John exclaims as they saw the smoke.

Dom saw John smiling and asks "What are you smiling about?"

John points at Dom and says "Dude, I almost had you."
