Hello fellow Wattpadders! Today we have A_Wiser with us, the author of the book, Henry. Just. Henry.
I am Abhipreeti (_abhipreeti_) and I have interviewed Azuren (or, Joel), a.k.a, A_Wiser.
Azuren (his real name being Joel) is a homoflexible twenty-year-old aspiring environmental scientist and author from Guyana in South America. He was born on the 10th September, 2003. Azuren is a very curious, friendly and bubbly ambivert who loves to sing, read, write, dance, exercise and bake. He's someone that prioritizes peace of mind, and tries his best to remain unbothered by the things people do and/or say.
At what age did you realize that you have a special place for writing? Are you currently or do you ever dream of one day being in the writing industry?
>>I discovered my destined passion for writing in form 4 (or grade 10) of high school when I was 16-17 years old. It started with me buying book after book each week from the bookstore and reading (that's also when I found my passion for reading), then downloading Wattpad to read more books (cause they were free!) then wanting to start writing my own book.
I would love to be in the writing industry someday, no matter how terrified I am lol!
Did any story, on or off Wattpad, inspire you ever and help you carve your interest towards writing books?
>>Yes! Reading the books on Wattpad is what inspired me to start writing, especially when I found out I could publish stuff there and have others read it if they wish.
What is the genre(s) in which you mostly write your books? Do you think you are able to create brilliant plots when you write in that specific genre(s)?
>>The genres I naturally lean toward when writing books are fantasy, gay/straight romance and adventure, but mostly fantasy. I do think I can be much more creative in these genres than others because I have the experience of writing them, the advice from other authors who are in the same fantasy realm, and my life and its crazy plot twists give me lots of ideas and experience.
What advice would you like to give to authors who are writing in the same genre(s) as yours?
>>Advice, huh. When it comes to fantasy, the one advice I'd give to anyone is this: spend time creating your world. This means exactly how it sounds; spend time creating the places, the people, nature, the magical aspects of your book, the society, etc. World building. It can be a lot to create new 'everythings', so to narrow it down, I'd say don't world build too much on things in your fantasy world that are similar to the real world. For example, if animals in the real world are the same in your fictional world, you don't have to world build on animals since you already have experience and knowledge of some animals on Earth. Unless there are tiny details that aren't the same, (like, maybe mammals breathing fire) world build on that.
